I've finished reading Fullmetal Alchemist and as of this reccomendation im on chapter 62 of Fire Force. The protaonists are both very similar. Shinra Kusakabe and Edward Elric have an underlying seriousness about them. They aren't the typical goofball, laid back protagonists who use pure brawn and guts to solve problems. They have goals, and each chapter is them working towards it. The pacing for both stories are both very fast paced Fullmeta's story was done in almost 110 chpters. And I expect Fire Force to be done around the 200 ch mark, at most 300. In less than 10 chapters for both you already tredding down the main plot. A Lot of what the 8th brigade stands for in fighting and trying to solve the corruption is very similar to what colonel Roy Mustang and his cohorts are doing. While reading this there was an unshakeable similarity to fullmetal.
