Both the stories happen in the same universe. If you read both there are quite a few overlapping scenes and plot points. The story is set in the martial arts background and reading them together will give a better understanding of the world that it is set in.

These are similar in concept. Both follow the exploits of a father who does not consider himself to be particularly strong, especially when compared to the more elites of the world, but is actually insanely strong. It's actually kind of refreshing to have overpowered protagonists who are mature in years that didn't come from an alternate world,

Both stories follow a father figure trying to do their best for their child. Oyaji is gritty and handles redemption while peerless dad is more wholesome. Still it is enjoyable to see the antics of the two fathers

What could possibly be scarier than that? A training regime from hell with a brutal grandfather. A joyful trip to Zhongyuan in search of a wife. The rise of a hero who will overturn the Murim world. Thousand Sword Techniques

There are people in the world that thinks they are the ‘chosen’ of the heavens. It’s been decades since chaos and strife among heroes ensued because of those people. A certain disciple who has six masters has been entrusted with the fate of the central plains. “If you guys are the heavens, then I’m the sword that’ll pierce the heavens.” That was what he’d resolved to do… No one mentioned he was a fatty, though! In any case, now that he’s here, he’ll need to save the… world… Damn it, lose some weight first.
