Both are cute, slice of life comedies with a parental figure taking care of younger characters. Both manga have quirky characters and a similar sense of humor and hijinks.

Both are extremely cute manga of untraditional families coming together in ways you wouldn't first expect

The impact killed many of the townspeople and critically wounded the girl's mother, who lay in a coma for several years before passing away, having never regained consciousness. With the help and friendship of Lion-san, a mask-wearing ghost who claims to have come from the rocket, Asumi grew up focusing on her dream – to someday travel to space. Now a young adult, she is determined to beat the odds and attend the newly-formed Tokyo National Space School to achieve her lifelong goal. Both deal with a single father raising a small child. Though Father and Son is predominantly comedy, Twin Spica is far more dramatic and heart-wrenching. Yet, if you look closely, you can find a small pinch of emotion that hits you just right when reading Father and Son.

Bunny Drop

Bunny Drop

Daikichi's grandfather dies, leaving behind a young daughter named Rin. However, as most of the family is embarrassed at the idea of a 79-year-old man having a six-year-old child, they can't seem to figure out what to do with her. Disgusted by this behavior, Daikichi decides to take care of her himself, but he's a bachelor, has no idea how to raise a child, and doesn't even like kids! Now, Daikichi must do the normal things a parent does such as enroll her in school, buy her clothing and teach her about the life and world around her. But more importantly, he must also help her deal with her father's death and decide whether or not she should try to find her mother. Together, the two begin their unlikely relationship as father and daughter.

Both are about single fathers living with their children. Both are comedy, though the type of comedy is a bit different. Father and son is has a lot more comedy in general, but the overall set up and plot between the two manga is similar

Both are light-hearted comedy manga that focus on two characters specifically and there antics. They both have quirky characters, and the side characters are mainly the family and neighbors of the main characters.

Both are comedy manga about single (ish) fathers raising their children. Both use a lot of slapstick comedy and are very light-hearted and enjoyable reads.

As the titles suggest, both stories are about Father and Son bonding but in different era. Chichi Kogusa is set in a much older era whilst Father and Son is in modern period but both stories illustrates how the fathers took care of their sons with the absence of their mothers.

City

City

Midori is in a bit of a bind. She is in debt, and her landlady is trying to shake her down for unpaid rent. Her best friend refuses to loan her cash since she’s wised up to her tricks. Maybe some bullying would help. Or a bit of petty theft? Neither is sustainable. Maybe getting a job would settle things… But working means less time for fun adventures in the big city…

Aho-Girl

Aho-Girl

Yoshiko is a hopelessly clueless high school girl. Her rock-paper-scissors strategy is “rock.” She somehow gets zeroes on multiple-choice tests. And she has an often-nearly-fatal weakness for bananas. Her devoted friends have no choice but to hang around and make sure nobody takes advantage of her. Cute characters, weird gags, and lots and lots of bananas!
