Ryo Onoda is a straight guy and he is three years younger than Harumi Deguchi. They have nothing in common and at first, they were just friends. But that’s not enough for Harumi- he wants more from Ryo and he realizes that he has fallen in love with him. Feeling anxious and emotional, he wants to tell him how he feels… but he can’t. Fearing rejection, he’d rather be just friends and not ruin what he has with him. Here- we have a story of pain, sorrow and happiness of being in love.
The way they portray their interactions and just the way they hang out together feels very natural. It takes place over the course of several years--I'm not exactly sure how many, but at least three--from the time Shima was in the old company (which is where Deguchi works) to the time Shima had moved to the new company and gotten together with Togawa. Onoda and Deguchi have been drinking buddies for that whole time, but Deguchi has secretly had a crush on fem. After learning that Onoda had a crush on Shima, Deguchi wonders if fe might also have a chance (since that means Onoda is capable of being attracted to guys). Events ensue. The romance is pretty feel-good and the drama not horribly feel-bad. The sex scenes aren't the most explicit, but get the mood going.
