Empress Cesia Wears Knickerbockers - Reviews

I do like the story and the pacing. It's quite adorable and a nice read.

I have one bone to pick though and that is the mixing of historical facts and fiction in terms of clothing. Sometimes it's evident that the auther has researched the diffrent layers of a 15 to 17 century dress and some of the trends that were at the time which I would have liked if not for the fact that it's so inacurate in terms of the corset.

It portrays corsets and the dresses like deathtraps. Which is so obviously false. Women would have started wearing other clothes if they couldn't breath for centuries. Corsets are comfortable if worn right which the were in that time period. Tight lacing which is the bad way to wear a corset was only done by very few before the 1890's were it was also heavily criticized but gained some popularity.

The most uncomforatable dresses I've heard of are the early to mid 1850's were the dresses were actually deathly because they were so heavy, the corset being the only thing that saved those poor women.  

All I am gonna say is that there is one tag missing in this manhwa's description and that is " biggest 2nd lead syndrome ever" !!!! 

This webtoon really has its unique touch 👏 We can sense the accomplishment of the main characters, I'm especially drown to Yuri, seeing her working so hard and bringing revolutionary concepts in this world. There is pretty much nothing to say about the main plot, we are seeing infrastructures and techniques development and I do like transformation. However as for the romance part, it's really difficult to root for someone in particular, throughout this webtoon you might shift your ship haha 🤭 well this story is really refreshing so I can just recommend it 😉 

Personally, this has to be one of my all time favourite reads. Despite it being a slow-burn, I didn't get bored.

The characters are great, in my opinion, they have a past, have their own reasons and views. The best part, no one is cartoonishly evil or jealous, they're all just people. After reading a bit too many romance stories, it just gets so tiring reading about another jealous princess etc.

Another great thing is that the FL, despite liking ML has her own dreams, plans, it's great seeing women get along, as too often that is not the case.

It's not the most serious manhwa, but I think it's a wonderful read to cheer one up and it's just really cute. For me, it avoided many of they clichés I expected. And I liked how they addressed the situation with the 2nd ML, I understand why people like him, but I really liked the reasoning of FL. Finally a character who has knowledge of the modern age and actually maintains the thought process most people with have about age/consent/status in the modern era.

I would really reccomend this! 

Serious 2 ML Syndrome, I practically dying here from it.  Other than that, it is one of the most well-written manga I've ever read.
