I think there both similar in some aspects and when I thought of this manga eko eko just popped up so. There both supernatural with a dark theme I will say that The bride one is obviously not as dark with romance themes its a lot sweeter but the taste is there. Eko Eko is a mystrey, supernatural, and all in all just edgy and I think you should give it a try.
Hachiouji Tarou is an average 2nd year high school student. Since his father died, leaving him as the head of the family, he’s been constantly pulling his brother out of trouble. One night, when he came back home, his mother's head was rolling on the floor, and an evil spirit had hold of his younger brother. Instead of helping him, he hesitated and stood frozen with fear while the spirit got away with his brother. Now Tarou is on a quest to find his brother and exterminate evil spirits.
So there's this guy, right? His name's, like, Masato or something. He's got bags the size of suitcases under his eyes. He wakes up one day to find that cloud/sheep things have gone and kidnapped everybody. He also meets this boy/girl/sheep named Dori that's all sunshine and rainbows and stuff. They go around looking for people that haven't been taken by the sheep, with Masato beating sheep along the way with the power of beauty-sleep or something because of a promise he made to his dying mother. How's that for weird?
At that time, I had no idea. "I want to get close to Kotone senpai who I love", that island that I just visited with that feeling was not a "homicide demon's island" that the ghost strangers around the world are latent. Everyday of a boy, ethics, destiny collapses. The shivering survival suspense !!
