It is an good story that loosely follows the plot of Dragon's Dogma game that was released during the same time as Skyrim. For those who never heard of it: it is a not to bad game with good combat dynamic's IE: Able to climb large foes to deal damage in hard to reach places. Another nice thing about it is the Pawn system that is sort of A.I. and the amount of Vocations (classes for those who don't understand) too is nice: Strider, fighter, mage are the 3 basic vocations. Warrior, ranger, and sorceror are the advanced vocations, then there is 3 more vocations known as hybred vocations that combine 2 basic vocations. Assassin(fighter and strider) Magic Knight(fighter and mage) and last but not least Magic archer(strider and mage) each vocation uses certain weapons that the other vocations cannot use. Most Ideal example is the 3 advanced and 2 hybred vocations: Warrior uses 2 handed weapons, Ranger uses longbows, and sorceror uses archstaves. Magic knight uses magic shields and maces, Magic archers use a special bow called a magic bow which gives the vocation it's name those 5 weapons classes cannot be used by any other class and are unique to those classes alone. the other vocations has weapons that can be used by other vocations IE: daggers, sword, shield, shortbow, and magic staff. Daggers are used by 4 different classes(magic archer, assassin, ranger, and strider) sword are used in 3 different classes(fighter, assassin, and magic knight) shields are used in 2 classes(fighter and assassin) shortbows also are used by 2 classes(assassin and strider) while magic staffs are used by 3 classes(mage, magic knight, and magic archer) each vocation has it's pros and cons for a person starting out and want to change their vocation the 2 best vocations that I find the most useful in all round situations are either assassin or magic archer due to their abilities(though I am more partial to assassin due to the amount of magical weaponry that one can use) <.< ok sorry for that long review but yeah dragons dogma is also open world and full of monsters and also the expansion pack that came out a while after the original game is NOT for beginers due to the high level of monsters inside Recomended lvl is 100+ otherwise you WILL DIE in very little time. if possible when you go in take either a lot of sobbering wine due to it's very useful effect of making one's followers and self immune to debilitations for about 3 or so min or get the ancient set from the black cat in the capital and get it dragon forged otherwise you will die quickly regardless of lvl due to the amount of debilitations one can be struck with inside IE: Petrefy(turned to stone) ancient set has very high debilitation resistance that is a god send inside the expansion pack Dark arisin. <.< F. did it again well I should probably stop typing since I am a avid player of the game with over 200+ hours of game time. the manga also explains some of this as well but not in great detail. for the full story I suggest playing the game or going to Dragonsdogma wikia com Just replace the spaces with Periods and you'll go to the main site for all the info you'll ever want about the game including weapons (they also have pretty cool weapon designs too)
