Both are lighthearted tales of modern genius scientists placed into new, much more primitive worlds! The premises, goals, and all-around approach are all different, but they both share medicine (and medicine creating) as the main focus.

Both of these manga share themes of people (or animals) grouping behind one person to create a better community. The groups in each face different threats to the well being of the group and it's progress. They also share a jungle setting.
