Nobita's dad stumbled upon a strange advertisement of a fantastic resort on television at midnight. Sleepy as he was, he made a reservation even though he didn't even realize he was talking to the advertisement. The next day he discussed with the family their holiday plans, only to realize he could not find the place anywhere on earth. All of a sudden though, there was a suitcase in Nobita's room and intrigued as he was, he opened it only to find a portal to a beautiful resort managed by tin robots. Better still, it's absolutely free. However, it seems that there is a hidden agenda behind the person who invites them there.
In a distant galaxy, a robot society plans to invade Earth and take humans as their slaves. A robot named Riruru is sent ahead as a scout who will make the necessary arrangements for the invasion to occur. Luckily for human race, Nobita accidentally interrupts this reconaissance mission. Nobita and his friends will then need to somehow face an entire army of steel troops and stop the mechanized offensive.
Following an argument, Nobita follows Doraemon to the North Pole where he finds a strange ball that causes pieces of a giant robot to fall from the sky. After the pair builds the robot in the uninhabited Mirror World, Shizuka accidentally destroys a building with its weapons, and they decide it's best to abandon the robot and keep it a secret. The following day a mysterious red-haired girl named Lilulu begins to enquire about the robot, but after swearing Nobita to secrecy and borrowing the portal to the Mirror World she disappears. A few nights later Nobita follows a strange light and finds the portal to the Mirror World, though when he and Doraemon enter, they discover that Lilulu is building an entire army of robots! As the only ones to know of her plan, it is now up to Nobita, Doraemon and the gang to stop the Robot Empire's plan to invade Earth and enslave humanity.
