Don't Get Me Wrong, Boss! - Reviews

The plot is hilarious and the characters are charming. If you're looking for a light hearted romance this might be the one for you

Personally, this manga is kinda boring. The art is great and the funny moments are good but the characters don't really have chemistry, it seems a bit forced and the story is plain. No one actually has a real motive for what they are doing, for example the boss hired our MC just because he read his "love letter" and felt bad for him (I thought that maybe the love letter moved him, or like he has never seen anyone to be so compassionate in a break up love letter before and he was curious what kind of person he is or maybe he hasn't met a gay man before and he didn't know that a man can love another man so much or something like that but the boss literally says that he hired him because he pitied him...) and the MC applied for the job just to shut his mother up about getting a job and got in by accident. 

And the way that the boss takes an interest in him just feels unnatural. I don't know, maybe it's just me thinking this but there is no excitement. Like this could have been executed better. 

If you're able to overlook quite a few things, then it's a cute story. The straight, rich, young boss inherited the family business and then just hires this dude with a gay romance novel for his resumé. The boss is just totally smitten with the MC, Mr. Lin, and is super tough on him, then super nice, then super possessive, then super stalker-y. All four phases of... God knows what.

But for real though, it's your typical office workers romance, with an uncomfortable power dynamic between the boss and his employee. Typical company retreat, kissing in the office, pulling all-nighters, etc.

I'm a fan of office romance, but if you're not, you probably won't like this. I mean, if the MC didn't habe a huge crush on his boss, there probably would have been a harassment lawsuit lol.

Great art, great expressions, accurate translation, and a good read overall.
