Things weren't looking good until he pulls out a broken sword that scares even the giants. At the same time, a goddess descends along with a meteor shower. What is the importance of the broken sword who can only be fixed by "the fool without fear"? What's the mission of the goddess on earth?

They use strong power of mind to create a beast to fight with monsters. Afterward, they, who use 12 items to create those beasts, become known as TWELVE.

So Ichizo takes his grandfather's shakujô (big iron stick) and decided to go around the world because it is that Sanzo took the road to Sinolek (a path that leads to tenjiku which goes around of the earth) from the west rather than east as only the small side of the world remained peaceful.
