Talent-Swallowing Magician[Review] By DJ Gonglyong Story: The story is mid-tier, and is a typical and classical average series where the MC is hell bent on revenge; an unenjoyable read due to the abandance of series like this one-it does not possess indivisuality or uniqueness and is, like many revenge series; completely the same as other revenge themed series, however with a slight twist-where this MC can absorb "talent". Art: The art is somewhat decent and pleasing to the eye, however the shading and colors do not fully utilise the tones of each color. So this art level can be classified as somewhat-above-average. Characters: Boring characters with almost no backstory presented except for the MC; the characters are typical and bland, with no exceptional difference to each character. Overall: Would not recommend this series as it is almost like every other classical revenge story. The series also fully focuses on the goal, and does not provide any other scenes where it shows pleasant life and other things. The only reason why this series passes is because of its slightly-above-average art; other than that, this series fails in my eyes. Thanks for reading.

It gets too dramatic after chapter 20. It was unreliable in terms of pacing and felt more like watching a drama than reading a manhwa. Having the characters introduced too quickly doesn't gel well with the story.

The series is about the MC who desires to revive his family name despite not being able to use magic. The art is really nice to look at, with dynamic poses and beautiful colors. However, it doesn't have much world- or character-building going on. I didn't feel connected to any of the characters because there was none/very little backstory given; when there was a small backstory it always just used your typical cliché for a few panels. As a result, they feel very one-dimensional and I have trouble rooting for characters I don't feel connected to at all. It immediately jumps into a lot of action and that's really it. I would have liked it more if we could directly see all the struggles MC faced leading up to his turning point (when he gains power). If you're new to the fantasy action genre, this can scratch that itch, but for those who have already read better, with dynamic characters or detailed worldbuilding, this likely won't be as satisfying of a read.
