He’s perennially unemployed, his ex-girlfriend has moved on, and he’s just lost all his life savings to a bitcoin scam. Burdened by societal pressures, Yijae Choi decides to take his own life. Insulted by his flippant attitude towards dying, Death comes to punish him with her game: he must experience death over and over again through 13 other lives. But if he can find a way to survive the imminent death coming for these lives, he gets to live out their lifetime. His life was a bust, but what about the lives of others?
The story follows a man, who sees no reason to live as nothing is going his way (broke up with girlfriend, lost a job, etc.), he decides to commit suicide. In which, he writes a suicide note saying something along the lines of "At least, I control death" and guess who gets angry by this? Death itself! Death decides to punish this man by offering him a 13 chances of living again, but the twist is that he musn't commit suicide and that all the bodies he will go in will be fated to die. So when death is at every corner, how will he survive!? The premise of the story was both unique, enjoyable and beautifully executed. He doesn't undergo change too quickly, though there is stunning character growth, and his character is very realistic. He doesn't adjust right away, finds himself gaining and losing hope time and time again, and struggles with regrets. It is beautiful! It really highlights the cruel injustice the world has whilst reminding us that you can find happiness. His thoughts/mindset definately changes, naturally, throughout the story. He isn't perfect in any aspect, he is human. That is one of the reasons why I enjoy this so much, the main character isn't stupidly over-powered or can always make the 'right' choice, that itself makes seeing what he does next to be interesting and easily addicts me. The creativity of each life never ceases to amaze me. Plus the ending was leaving me craving for more, I simply couldn't believe it ended so suddenly. The main character experiences many things, such as love, regret and happiness so that he can truly appreciate life. The art is very visually appealing as well, it is fantastic, which is only the many highlights of these stories! 100% Reccommend!
Although I don’t have the patience to buy daily passes everyday to finish the chapters , it’s a pretty decent WEBTOON. Now bare in mind that that the main lead tragically takes his own life so please avoid this webtoon at all costs if you will be extremely triggered by this type of tragic event. Also if you or someone else is experiencing suicidal thoughts, please go to http://www.suicide.org/international-suicide-hotlines.html to seek professional help.
𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖 >>> I started it with no expectations but it totally captured me, without a doubt a work that has been treated unfairly. Story and script with coherence, a plot of the best, actions that make sense, very well defined and characterized characters and a good art (not the best art I've seen but it's very good anyway). This is a webtoon that not many people know, those who have read it already know what a good story this is. "Death's game" is a story about a guy who decides to end his life, he gives up just like the way some of us in the real life have thought about doing. But dont get me wrong it may be depressing but by the end of it you will have learnt a lesson about life and why even in the worst situations you shouldn't give up. And although there are only a few chapters the plot unfolds very well, it is better that they are few and of quality. If you are one of those who like that the character shows a development and can even leave you teachings, no doubt this is a work that you have to read.
