I love reading thrillers and horror. So I always thought I have a tough skin, it didn't matter what the author throws at me. I was very wrong. This story made me uncomfortable. It crawled over my skin in a way that made me feel repulsive but I kept on reading because it was addicting.  It probably is one of the best psychological thrillers I have the opportunity to read. The mind of sociopaths and the destruction that they cause. The story is bittersweet and a hell of a ride! 100% recommend it! EDIT : The webtoon is available to read on the LINE WEBTOON APP, you just have to make sure that the app is current version.

Psychopaths are born, sociopaths are made. There are small spoilers in this review and trigger warnings are at the bottom. I absolutely hated this webtoon. I really liked it up until half of it but then I just.. didn’t feel like reading it anymore. Ajin, the main character, has a neurological condition that is said to affect approximately 4% of the human population. Meaning, she’s a sociopath. At first it was really thrilling to see how she wrapped people around her little finger and who she really is when her mask dropped. It was awesome to see how she could manipulate other people and how she could win against adults when she was a kid. Some of the things she did made me feel sick but I still thought that the webtoon was awesome because no big permanent damage was done to her victims. That started to change as she got older and I couldn’t handle it anymore. Saying that it made me feel sick is an understatement. So no, I don’t like this webtoon. In fact, I absolutely look back on it with hatred. But.. That’s also what makes it so good. The author was able to portray sociopathy and the manipulations so well! The fact that this webtoon made me feel sick multiple times proves that point. (I’m aware that not all sociopaths are like this, so I’m talking about those who are.) Another thing that was good about this, is the art! The art was stunning and the fact that Ajin is drawn so beautifully… She really is a devil disguised as an angel. This manhwa was released in 2019-2020 but where the hell was I that I only found out about it just now? This is soooo good and makes easily-bored-me reading it in one go. Strong, refreshing plot, deep characters and everything is well written. *contain spoiler*The story is divided into several arcs and basically we're shown how sad FL's early life was and the seeds of her evil nature. We'll also introduced to other characters who are written consistently and connected to each other until the end of the story, so you have to pay attention at small details because they're not *just there*. In the initial arc, the author will direct us to sympathize with FL and support whatever revenge she will carry out. But when we enter the arc when she has become an actress and has ambitions to get higher and higher, you'll slowly lose that sympathy. Why? Because she's very evil. I'm not even sure if that's the right word to describe how evil she is lol. She uses others for her own benefit and for the cost of another person's life. It's quite rare to see MC like this, because usually we're shown how they take revenge to a reasonable degree, for example like drama The Glory. It's not to the point where MCs harm people outside of ones destroying their life, but this FL is really something, lmao. It's kinda remind me with Snowman by Ramjak where ML is an unforgivable trash lol. And the good thing is, they didn't get away from their crime and got the appropriate punishment. FL didn't go to prison but lost all the things that made her mad: career, money, reputation, people closest to her, and her biggest asset: her face. Even though ML is actually a victim, he also contributed to FL's downfall, so I think him not being able to forget her and never getting to know his child is a good ending too. Overall, I am satisfied with this story. I'm so happy to hear that it will be adapted into K-drama! I hope the adaptation is better than webtoon and the casts can represent these characters well!
