Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction Manga

Three years ago the aliens invaded Tokyo. Nothing was ever the same again. But after a while, even impending doom starts to feel ordinary. The Japanese Self Defense Forces are still looking for a way to combat the looming alien threat three years after the invasion, but so far conventional weapons have had no effect on the mothership. Maybe it’s time to try something unconventional. Meanwhile, Kadode Koyama is in high school. She and her best friend avidly track the aliens’ movements on social media and less enthusiastically study for college entrance exams. When the end of the world is overhead, you learn to take things one step at a time.

Just woah The story follows the life of a group of high school girls that are living in the presence of aliens from another world. It's a "slice of life" in that you see their everyday interactions with each other and how the huge alien ships affect where they live. There is a political element to the story as adults and the government struggle with living with this constant presence of aliens. Some want to destroy them all and others want to save them. While there are funny moments involving a lot of the girls, I wouldn't call it cutesy. Dead Dead Demon's is still an Asano series, so he brings a lot of realism to the story and characters.
