Dark Mortal

Being called a freak isn’t so bad when you have a spunky little black blob as a companion. An explosion leaves Nam Kang orphaned, scarred, and nearly blind, but he toughs out the daily bullying with the help of his imaginary blob friend, Inky. Until one day, Nam wakes from a bad beating to find his scars healed and his vision restored. At a new school, Nam is finally given the chance to live life as a normal kid. But it isn’t just his scars that have disappeared. His best friend Inky is gone, too.

A mental drain an emotional roller coaster it hurt my hurt so bad but i couldn’t cry still

Wow, I wasn't expecting something so good! If you are looking for a gripping dark supernatural action story, you've found it. Superb pacing, likeable characters, stellar fights, a cohesive well-planned plotline, an amazing protagonist character arc and a wholly satisfying 10/10 ending. If you are a bit tired of typical stories and want something more like an antihero, corruption arc or hero-to-villain story, this should be up your alley (I'm not saying it totally runs like that but you get the idea) It starts off deceptively similar to a typical cultivation/weak-to-strong supernatural story (like Eleceed if you've read that), but then the story *goes places* and completely subverts your expectations. Nam Kang and Jiwoo also share that same determined-sweetheart personality (and love of cats)! Totally worth a shot if you are up for a dark action story.
