Our story begins with Jigyo, the crown prince, having recently been exiled from the palace with a guard, Dangeum, and the man who raised him, Chunggeum. The three are forced to pass their remaining days in a quiet village made up of mostly elderly residents. This leads to a listless and lonely Jigyo, who begins pressing Dangeum to relieve his traditional post as a voiceless shadow, and the two quickly grow closer. Hints of a bloody conspiracy, Dangeum’s mysterious origin, and a Chunggeum who seems to know more than he's letting on - just how are these three characters connected, and what will happen to them during exile?
Fellas if y'all are looking for a blossoming relationship between a bodyguard & a prince in an eastern historical context then look no further.... I've been blessed with the cutest possible wholesome shit right here. First off, Dangeum is Jigyo's (the prince) guard from the shadows but since they're on the run from the palace coz of some "who's next in line for the throne" royal struggle; Dangeum's been given the chance to reveal his identity in front of the prince. Coupling with the fact that Dangeum loves Jigyo with his wholeass heart, this runaway ordeal proves to be Dangeum's lifelong goal as he gets to spend time with the prince. You can see him becoming more bold as their days progress, like nibbling Jigyo's ear and laying on his lap *kokoro explodes*. Most moments are taken up by these two & the grandfather on occasions, quite predictable since the title's literally about them both. Ya can carefully follow the plot by paying attention to the interspersed scenes regarding to what happened prior to their exile. There'll be two more seasons so expect some major royal battle for the throne, Dangeum's origins & stuffs. But the art's cute so the fights will be the least exciting out of all.
This story is really good and the art is also really nice! The sad thing is that it hasn't been updated for almost over a year :[ I still recommened reading this, but just be sure to keep in mind that it might never update again, so just think that the story ends at chapter 37.
Another great story by Pingpu! Definitely recommend. It's short,( I finished it in an hour) but sweet. Wholesome and cute. It didn't have a complicated plot and didn't pretend to be something it was not. It was a simple, beautifully designed story with interesting characters and an overall amazing piece of art!! please give it a try! and if you like this, also check this out for more cutesy moments!
