Cutie Honey a Go Go!

After doing some research through the Cutie Honey mangas, I found this... thing. I couldn't believe my eyes before, and thought this was yet another Cutie Honey adaptation based on the 2004 movie pandering craze... but when I found out the premise... My heart was immediately beating fast. /I wasn't really wrong, though/ One of my biggest guilty pleasures are Magical Girl animes. I absolutely LOVE their complex and fascinating concept. Cutie Honey is another one of those shows that is part of the original generation of magical girls. In this version, Cutie Honey is part of a government organization who also fights crime in order to protect Tokyo. The action and drawings are over-the-top. There is a lot of humor /Especially from Natsuko, who beats up her own co-workers for trivial things/ and exaggerated violence in this manga that I'm so grateful for. It has the F word, and they made Miharu completely evil in this, but I still felt so sad for her. She was supposed to be just a stern woman... how did it get so bad? Panther Claw is also doing real terrorist stuff, and the whole thing is much more realistic. However, the art style makes up for it. It's just so beautiful, and the colors are stunning. Anyway, if you haven't already read the series, you really should. It's a very wonderful and fun series, and it's definitely one of my favorite manga out there. /Despite being flawed and somehow disappointing with its characters/
