Cross-Dressing Villainess Cecilia Sylvie - Reviews

The protagonist in this manga dies in a fire an reincarnates into the Villainess of an Otome game 12 years before the game takes place, when the villainess is only 5. The main character wishes to avoid the “bad end” of the otome game, which would end with her being executed. Yet, for some reason, instead of using the extra 12 years to change people’s opinions of her and essentially ensure that there is no possibility of being executed, she decides that the best course of action is to cross-dress and pretend to be a boy. Okay, you know what, whatever, it’s a comedy, I’m not going to nitpick character decisions right off the bat. However, as the manga progresses past the game’s starting point, the protagonist continues to make decisions about people based off of their relationships to her in the otome game, despite the clear differences that have arisen as a result of becoming a completely different person due to the reincarnation. She, for no reason whatsoever, continuously thinks she’s on the track to a bad end, despite there being literally zero evidence to suggest this. It really, really starts to get annoying around chapter 4 or so, and it would otherwise be a solid comedic manga if not for the protagonist becoming so irritating.

Our protaganist is reincarnated into an otome game that has more than just the basic 'capture target' system, and includes rpg elements and a murder mystery which already has it ahead of a lot of otome isekais as far as catching your interest.  That said, it is still 100% your classic cliche otome game isekai, it's just got some nice twists and plenty of fun content.  Those of you familiar with Ouran will draw a lot of similarities with our crossdressing female protaganist.  Those of you who might be fujoshis/fudanshis will probably love the scenes where our crossdressed heroine gets close to guys even in her male disguise ;) I would absolutely recommend it. 

Honestly a whole lot of fun so far, the main character is a bit stupid but that's what our supporting characters are for! I don't hate the love triangle going on and I have high hopes for it's developement later on. On my list of faves at the moment, hopefully it can keep itself up there.

It's pretty good so far and gives me "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" vibes but with a crossdressing mc. But I think I can guess the plot twist already. (im on ch 6) possible spoilers ahead!!!

So lean is probably the friend who died in our cecile's past life bc of the bl and just the way she acts and her character feels just gives her vibes. Also things that shouldn't be affected by cecile like lean and jade not falling in love even when the events happened, clearly giving lean more free will 

I've gotten farther now, and WHY just WHY does gilbert have to romantically love cecile? Why can't I have a normal sibling relationship!! *sobs*
