So far these stories are barely frightening, and the few unique stories that are presented never ring as truly chilling. Something is missing from nearly every story that would make it a cohesive scare. There are moments when I felt notes of dread but they quickly faded away when the anti-climactic conclusion had been reached.  This is not Itou Junji's horror, or even Fuan no Tane which sometimes manages to be succinct and threatening. Everything is just flat. I have no problem with classic urban legends that we've all read before, but nothing new or interesting has been brought to the table as far as I can tell. Overall this collection of horror stories is leaning towards the mediocre side of average and quite frankly boring and uninspiring.
