Drahken Drahken says...

Both manga revolve around a digital device (a computer in one, a cellphone in the other) which has been given a female humanoid form, and which it's owner is forced to interact with in erotic & perverted ways, just to perform basic functions. Oddly, while the girl-device is very attractive in both cases, the guys who owns each of them are reluctant to do these erotic things with them.

Chobits

Nineteen-year-old ronin Hideki Motosuwa desires two things more than anything else: a girlfriend, and an expensive humanoid computer (known as a 'persocom'). But with his dead-end job and no financial aid from his parents, owning a persocom seems impossible... until he finds a blond-haired female persocom tied up amongst a pile of trash! After getting her home and figuring out how to activate her, even the computer-illiterate Hideki realizes there is something unusual when it appears she can only say one word - Chii. Is she just broken, or is there more to this persocom than her behavior lets on?

Demokratia

Demokratia

A secret social experiment is led by two Japanese engineers, having an android every move, expression and decision decided through a majority vote from a collective of ca. 3000 randomly chosen people. The vote system offers the opportunity to any member of the collective to set forward his/her proposition. The 3 most proposed actions as well as two propositions made only once are submitted to the majority vote.Rules and systems have been set to ensure the dynamism of that community, and to prevent identification of people and places where the android evolves in modern-day Japan. And so the Dēmokratía android came to life.
