"Don't touch me when we're out in public." "Don't openly say that I am your wife." "Don't let people know that you and I live together." Lu Jinnian and An Hao were forced to marry as a result of their parents' arrangements. An Hao thought their marriage would be loveless and inescapable, so she gave Lu Jinnian three don'ts on their wedding night. Lu Jinnian looked at her, expressionless, and blinked his eyes. Can't touch her in public? He'll do it in secret. He can't say that she's his wife? He'll say that he's her husband. And as for the final don't... In an interview, he declared to the entire world: "Every night, I share a bed with An Hao."
Ignore the description, it literally doesn't even happen. The set up is that these two have loved each other for years, but ended up in a fake marriage to help their families, so each keeps lying to the other about why they do things for each other and continue the misunderstanding. I recognize that I'm rating this really highly because I'm a sucker for these tropes but still. I really got sucked in and enjoyed this. Great if you love mutual pining. They're both SO IN LOVE but for a variety of reasons they both keep messing it up and/or believing it's all fake and could never happen, so. If you love those tropes, go for it.
I don't want to sound overly harsh but if you're looking for a well thought out cohesive and just genreally enjoyable manga then don't waste your time. I have never written a negative review in my life but after reading this I couldn't allow other people to be subjected to the same fuckery that I had to endure without pror warning. I read quite a bit of it too beacuse honestly I'm a very optimistic reader I always have hope that things will improve but the plot is simply to complicated and convulted for me to even bother trying to see it thorugh to the end like wow. Anyway my closing statement if you like long and very drawn out storylines as well as excessive amounts of drama then you should stil probaly stay away from this manga. But then thats only my opinion.
On chapter 22 right now. I was really reading it just to pass the time. The writing and pacing is incoherent. The art is a little wonky. But I read it anyway just to see what happens and HOLY SHIT. The male lead rapes her?! Are we supposed to pretend that was forgivable? I'm assuming we are supposed to ship this and uhhh WHAT? I can't even write a proper review im so shocked.
