Brand New School Day Manga

Shinjou wants to enter high school as a new man, since he had not been very popular back in Middle School. As he's trying to edge his way into society with his new look and personality, he happens to bump into Kurai Kako, a classmate from Middle School who had been just as invisible as he was. With her new look and personality, has arrived for just the same reason he has, and she's looking forward to snagging a boyfriend for high school. They'll just have to make a bet -- who'll get a boyfriend/girlfriend first?

Very nice artwork. Their beautiful forms look beautiful. Their gloomy forms look gloomy. The comical exaggerations are appropriately goofy-looking. The structure of the story and the ultimate conclusion are both predictable, but it's still handled well enough to be entertaining (largely because of the humor). This is like a fable or a moral tale on the topic of a "gloomy" person trying to reinvent femself for feir high school debut. I appreciated how dramatically the idea of introverts getting mentally exhausted from prolonged socialization was portrayed. It was both funny and also held a kernel of truth.
