Haruki is a poor omega, who is the oldest of seven kids. Even though he has multiple part-time jobs and sacrifices eating well in order to pay for his meds, he still remains the top of his 3rd year class. Life may not be ideal, but Haruki had accepted it and is used to the hardships. But all of a sudden, he is being stalked by a very stubborn 1st year alpha…
Ugh, this is gross. Their relationship starts with stalking which soon progresses to rape, and yet the omega Haruki blushes whenever feir rapist says fe doesn't think of fem trivially. The alpha Asahina says fe's always found Haruki's hard work in the face of difficult circumstances to be really cool. But does it really matter if your rapist loves you and wants to spend feir life with you? It's horribly disappointing how they took this character of Haruki, who was supposed to have self-respect and the determination to overcome whatever walls life might throw at fem, and had fem fall in love with feir rapist just because of some flowery words. Pathetic. The author must be completely warped to be portraying this as though it's a happy ending. There are also problems which seem prevalent throughout omegaverse stories. The culture of victim-blaming and the lack of accountability or legal repercussions when an omega gets raped are unethical and saddening; the lack of basic civil rights makes it difficult to enjoy the smut. A disturbing example from this story is how Haruki's parents sided with feir rapist over fem, even to the point of trusting the rapist to babysit their children while they're out of the house despite Haruki's protests. The omega-hate in that society is so pervasive that it even trumps parental love.
