It has a laidback, slice-of-life vibe. It's set within a group home of sorts, where children orphaned by the war against the aliens live in peace. With skirt-flipping and all that. The aliens fight by dropping exploding girls from the sky onto population centers. Some of these exploding girls, called "gosta," decided to not explode and lived on the run from both the humans and the aliens. The entire story is framed as a flashback to events from a year ago, to when Sachi had met and gotten to know the slightly odd (read: secretly alien) girl named Ai. Every morning, fe wakes up on top of Ai. Subconsciously, fe must've sought the comfort and love that Ai is willing to offer to fem. And Ai doesn't want to kick fem off because fe finds it pleasant, even though Sachi is heavy. It has a sketchbook style of art. The tanks and wildlife are drawn really well. The faces are adequate.
A short, but sweet romance story between a girl and an alien. Story: The narrative was pretty straightforward. It's set in a strange post-invasion world, but doesn't really delve into what that all entails. The main focus is the GL relationship between the MC and the alien girl. It feels pretty clearly metaphorical for the struggles of same-sex relationships in general, given how the alien girl is basically the same as a human. It didn't overstay its welcome, and felt like it was intentionally just a small part of a greater narrative of short stories set in this post-invasion world. Art: Many panels have striking and gorgeous detail, and others have little to no detail at all. Not terrible by any means, but certainly nothing more than just moderately above average. Characters: The characters have clear motives and beleivable backgrounds. It's very easy to get the groove of these characters. None of them feel overblown or exaggerated, while at the same time they have plenty of personality. That said, there are very few characters, and it sometimes felt like the decisions they made or actions they took didn't really have much justification, and served only to move the plot forward or provide fanservice. Overall, this is a fairly enjoyable look into a theoretical future/sci-fi world. Great for a quick read.
