Initially picked it up because it seemed like a short cute GL I could binge in a night. Honestly I think the other reviews are exaggerating, this story wasnt too bad, so I would rate it a 8.
The story is between our main girls, Seonwoo who is the president of the film club and Hayoung, a new undergraduate. Like all crushes start, Seonwoo is attracted to how cute and attracted Hayoung is, and the two develop a close relationship. However, Seonwoo realises her crush on Hayoung and maintains a distance away from her. Thats a little summary, I dont want to divulge into all of the plot.
I think the relationship Seonwoo and Hayoung is something I enjoyed seeing sprouting and developing in the manhwa. One review mentioned that there was no reason for Seonwoo to be into Hayoung which is incredibly stupid. Im guessing thats implying that Yeonwoos love for Hayoung didnt make sense. Obviously Seonwoo did have a physical attraction to Hayoung in the first few chapters or so, like a silly crush, youre physically attracted to someone you barely know, but their relationship became deeper when Hayoung and Seonwoo became more closer and they began to appreciate each others personalities and actually fall in love. I like this realistic aspect of the manhwa
This manhwa has some psyological aspects as in one of the characters has a trauma due to their last relationship and thats what poses a problem in the couples relationship. Also, the other character had a sort of bad upbringing due to her overly strict parents, resulting in low self esteem. I like this manhwa as its mundane, it doesnt go too much into the issues that characters experience but does show how the characters improve as a result of them.
Examples/Spoilers:
Seonwoo was forced to pick accounting subjects instead of her literature subjects which she really enjoyed, and was always told to accept things and that she shouldnt go against her father because she should just accept them because its for her own good. I like the fact that Hayoung motivated her to do what she wants and speak out because Seonwoo does make a passionate leader, and is a great person in general, but alot of people fail to recognise that as they only look at her from the outside. Seonwoo finally accepts that maybe she is being too obedient and finds the courage to speak out against her overly harsh dad.
Hayoung on the other hand had issues with her previous relationship as her girlfriend decided to dip out of her life for absolutely no reason, while she had no idea where her girlfriend was, her girlfriend had already started a new life at her new college. This obviously gave her trust issues and a struggle with being honest. In her relationship with Seonwoo which starts out as great but suddenly alot of incoming drama causes Seonwoo to question Hayoungs honesty, Hayoung is able to overcome her insecurity problems, I think one aspect I interpreted from this story is that she didnt want to cause issues so kept everything to herself because she didnt Seonwoo to leave her like Yi-Hwa did.
The ending of the story was cute, it was a conclusion for sure. It didnt leave out any major details out. I liked it, well it wws satisfying for me.
Also, in iforijsignificant's review, who says that Hayoung and Yi/Hwa should have ended up together... Wtf? Like realisitcally why would Hayoung give a chance to someone who literally DIPPED out of her relationship. Even if Yi-Hwa had her problems, thats fucked up. She could have updated Hayoung but gave her no closure whatsoever even though she had no involvement with her relationship with her mother. Yi-Hwa then comes back and acts like a stubborn bitch and confesses she still had feelings for Hayoung and that she regretted it but if you regretted it you wouldnt have done it in the first place. Poor Hayoung.... Sorry, sidetracked but some of these reviews really pissed me off
Overall, I would recommend this manhwa. It is good unlike the reviews which say otherways, but is really realistic/mundane in the way it portrays 'trauma' and wl relationships in general. Likeee if this was straight u guys would have ate it up? I feel like yall r too harsh cuz its a GL..
