Both stories feature are highly addictive psychological thrillers where the weakling son ends up being an accomplice to his parent's crimes. In Bastard, the relationship between the son and father is explored, while in Blood on the Tracks, it's the relationship with the son and mother. The dynamic between parents and child is drastically interrupted in both cases when the MC develops feelings for a girl.

Lots of unexpected plot twists and will keep you hooked.

Also, both authors have an unnerving ability to draw the most horrifying and twisted facial expressions.
