So, i´ve you´ve read the first part, Gunnm, the frist thing youre gonna notice is the improvement on the art. Oh my god Alita looks so much cooler! The story progresses where the first part left it, and the stroy will fill up some holes that were left unknown from the previous volume, like Alita´s past, the history of the Scrapyard, Tiphares, etc.
Personnally, one thing that i didnt like was how the previous combat style: martial arts, neat art of machines being ripped to pieces by a punch or kick, etc, was kinda replaced by a more "fantasy" kinda "special abilities" sorta combat. More like electromagnetic waves produced by a punch rather than the previous simple panzer kunst that i really liked.
Anyway, the story still preserves its iconic cyberpunk vibe and the evolution of the art style and writting makes it much more "modern" when compared with Gunnm.
