The fundamental problem with this manga is that the base premise would've been best executed as a Kingdom Building story--filled with diplomacy, strategic planning, and largescale military maneuvers--but the actual execution is simplistic and reactionay violence. It falls back on uninspired Shounen Action shit, where suddenly the motives of all the forces center around the possession of a singular artifact which the protagonist currently wields. Talk about bad motive-writing. It's actually a bit surprising that the antagonists' motives are so shallow and badly written considering that this is the same author who does My Hero Academia (and the antagonists in that series generally have pretty well-written motives). The protagonist's personality is also highly uninteresting and essentially just revolves around fem intensely valuing family and feeling a repulsion toward anyone who threatens to destroy familial bonds. The fight scenes, fantasy/alien creatures, character designs, and artwork in general are all good quality.
