Author of My Own Destiny

Evil mage Fiona Green was destined to die at the hands of the protagonist couple in “The Emperor and the Saint.” That is, until the story’s author became Fiona herself! Though mistreated, cast out by her pompous family and thrown into the battle at Heylon, Fiona is determined to use her magic for good. But things take a rather unexpected turn when she rescues the male lead, Siegren, turning him from foe to friend… Will she successfully rewrite her fate without changing the story’s happy ending?

⭐ORIGINAL REVIEW The premise is very interesting since the female lead reincarnates into a novel that she wrote in real life. She lives as the strongest antagonist, completely alone in the world and sent to the brutal north to serve the lord and perform as a mage. I loved the fact that despite her being the creator of the world, she doesn't unfairly have OP powers that can control all the characters and cause a lot of damage. There's still information she's not aware of and factors she can't control, so she can only work in a way that makes sense.  The romance here is refreshing and completely expected but it doesn't detract from the quality of the plot or the uniqueness of the world. I feel like that Chapters 1 - 21 is mostly for building the stage where the characters will shine; they have yet to get to the meaty part of the story.  Should you read this? Definitely!! It's fun and interesting, focusing mostly on the FL rather than the family relationships or the romance thus far. Reviewed at Chapter 21. ⭐UPDATED REVIEW Still as good as I remember it to be - I really enjoy the world building and the quest for revenge of the FL. Her slowly aggregating her power and becoming the inevitable harem magnet that she deserves to become, despite her oblivious self, is the plot I love to see!  In the later chapters, we get to see the world she created evolve to fit the other main characters of the novel. They're all attractive and capable, terrifyingly aware of their own powers in the greater scheme of things. I love that they all seem to have their own agency and aren't just a trope for the sake of providing her with a backdrop. My personal favorite is the red haired woman (I'm being purposely vague here to avoid spoilers). She seems quite complex and has a very interesting role to play in the coming chapters. I love the art so so so much!! The art has evolved to show such beauty and it's a treat to read each chapter and be blessed with something that should be framed somewhere. At best, I could only take a screenshot and make it the background of my phone so I can adore it everyday. Bumped up my art rating from 8.5 to 9.5 because of the newest chapters. I'm rambling (oops) but in short: the art is immaculate. Mwah. The relationship between the ML and the FL is slowly developing as well! I loved to see how much he adores her and how hard he works to be able to be of service to her as she pushes the limits of what she can do and where she can go. I personally dislike MLs that tend to overshadow the FL, especially if they're achieving multiple things or are doing things integral to the plot, but this manhwa shows that they can both be cool without having to adjust for each other. And that's perfect. Excited to see more from Season 2!!  Reviewed at Chapter 40.
