A mobile game called Arcana Fantasy has taken the world by storm. However, individuals who log on to the game lose consciousness in the actual world and cannot escape the game until someone plays to the end. Can Yoon, the son of a pro gamer and policewoman, find his father in the virtual world and escape with the other victims?
Shoving you right into the middle of things with no background information, the story starts with the main character fleeing for his life (cliche) and getting rescued by a guy who gets himself killed in like 5 seconds. Super cool. You get a tiny bit of a hint here and there as they shove the story forward with a 'the living should live' and 'let's move on' attitude that's honestly really irritating. You have no chance to get attached to or even interested in the main character or any other characters as they're all introduced far too quickly (by chapter 3 there are like 8 side characters you can't keep track of) and you're shoved into the next scenes in a rush. While I'm a huge fan of mmorpgs and 'trapped in a videogame' manga/manhwa, this one fell really flat for me. The vibe is very pessimistic and I found myself scrolling through and asking myself why I was still reading, repeatedly. There was no interest in where the story was going as with no hook and no attachment- I just didn't care for it.
The story skips out a lot of details which can make the readers feel confused. MC's character isn't even consistent, as someties he is calm, collected and observant while sometimes he is reckless, impulsive and sometimes even a obnoxious. The other characters are even better than the MC and their story is already revealed, whilst we readers doesn't even know the MC's background and circumstances. I actually don't mind if the MC is not agreeable but the story itself is lacking in details so... in the end not worth
The story is very confusing and the MC is very delusional. The way the story ends is very crappy at episode 29. I am very confused after reading and thinking that what was the real intention of the author to depict through this story. According to me this is the first part of story and others are coming soon or the author dropped the story in the middle. If it's not any one of the above and this is the real ending then I am very confused and disappointed after reading it.
