On that day, an adventurer with a wealth of experience, Nick was expelled from the party by the leader whom he looked up to as a father. Despite his constant support for his slovenly party members, be it financially or in teaching them, he was framed for embezzlement and expelled. Dumped by his girlfriend as well, Nick was thoroughly depressed and went to a bar to drink away his sorrows when he found companions in a former noble lady, an excommunicated priest, and a female dragonoid warrior. They were similarly adventurers who had been betrayed and could no longer trust others! Precisely because they all knew the pain of being betrayed, they decided to team up as a party to earn a living. “How about we call ourselves the ‘Survivors’?”
This manga is truly awful. The story started off so-so, but if it had stayed like that, it would have been okay. Instead, it became a slice-of-life drama, with most chapters dealing with the relationships of the main character with the rest of the party, all related to silly and cute stuff typical of a slice-of-life genre, with nothing important to the story. And what story? The resemblance of a plot that it seemed to have was quickly dissipated, and then it just dragged on with these little Mexican soap opera dramas and other similar things. The art is not bad, but it's not good by any means. The characters look interesting at first, but they are just boring and cliché. And if all that wasn't enough, the manga ends with no sort of conclusion whatsoever. I just can't understand why they even decided to animate this mess. All in all, I would not recommend this manga.
This is honestly a pretty good fantasy manga. The characters are somewhat likeable, there are certain unique elements (big fan of the special weapon they receive), and is generally fun to read. The art is pretty good, if a touch typical and very, very horny. So with all this being said why is it a 3/10 rather than a 7.5/10? Because it's over without even starting. They cut off the manga version completely and to my knowledge will not be continuing it past chapter 40, which is a pretty short way into the story. This is especially odd both because they were in the middle of a pretty major battle, and there's currently an anime adaptation airing, so I don't really see how to piece this whole deal together. Either way, even if this story is pretty alright, IMO it's an absolute skip given that it's not complete and might never be completed. Will update if that changes, but I doubt it.
