Both of these series are dark tales of a boy and a ghost-girl. In addition to the plot similarities (a guy in school encounters a ghost girl which only he can see), both series have a similarly dark atmosphere.
Dark, ghostly, gloomy.. if you like these themes, "Another" and "Tasogare Otome x Amnesia" are just for you (^.^)
26 years ago, in a third-year classroom of a middle school, there was a student named Misaki. As an honors student who was also good at sports, the charming girl was popular with her classmates. When she suddenly died, her classmates decided to carry on as if she was still alive until graduation. Then, in the spring of 1998, a boy named Kouichi Sakakibara transfers to that classroom, and he grows suspicious of the fearful atmosphere in that classroom. In particular, there is a beautiful, aloof girl named Misaki Mei who wears an eyepatch and is always alone drawing pictures.
Old curses and mysteries combine for a creepy effect in both. Another is the darker of the two though, as comedy and romance lighten up the storyline of x AmnesiIa in stark contrast to the horror aspect of Another.
Tasogare Otome X Amnesia isn't as gruesome and horror filled as Another but the story line is equally similar
Karugasaki Tora decided to repeat a grade and turn into a delinquent just so he could be popular, on his best friend's advice. However, his plan backfired and nobody talks to him in his new classroom. The only thing he can look forward to is seeing the cute girl sitting next to him, but after trying to talk to her she immediately kicked him and threw him out the window. Later the same day, though, he saved her and a little girl from being hit by a truck. No longer able to avoid him, the girl reveals that she's a ghost playing a shinigami's game. She must get the boy she likes to return her feelings at times given by a pair of hourglasses so she can return to life, or fail and be sent to hell together. Unfortunately, her feelings have awakened for Karugasaki...
