Hot-guy Sanae looks dumb, and isn't drawn well to look attractive. Maybe fe's supposed to be the brooding type of cool guy that makes all the girls swoon, but fe just looks lethargic and dead-eyed to me. As a character, fe's often nothing more than a prop. The girl characters are drawn better, though.

The story's main hook is Azuki's character. Fe's an incompetent ninja-in-training on a bodyguard mission, clumsy and lacking in common sense but gung-ho about feir duty (partially because fe fantasizes about a romance developing with the supposedly attractive guy fe's guarding). The recurring joke involves fem accidentally knocking Sanae unconscious--harming fem while protecting fem from harm--and fem having a near-death experience and chatting with feir dead grandma from the other side of the river of death. Azuki's fumbling can be pretty cute/funny, so it's a bit disappointing that this gag didn't take center stage in feir every confrontation. Also, I don't really think the inclusion of the three marriage prospects did anything to strengthen the story.
