Although the MCs in these series are different in term of their positions in the households, they share many similar elements in both stories. Both stories revolve around three male siblings and a female outsider who are the MCs that have been return to the past for a chance to get closer to their families. In BOTB the MC is the youngest sister, while the MC in ASM is the stepmother (but she's around the same age range as the eldest sibling). After the passing of the siblings' biological parents, the person who's the next in line took over as the head of the family (the stepmother in ASM and eldest son in BOTB). But due to their young age, the family's relatives (represent by an aunt) tried to scheme their ways into having them hand over his position by manipulating the other younger siblings instead. In the end, both MCs successfully changed the past's outcomes and get accepted by the three siblings.

The start of the story is similar: just when the female lead character was almost got the feeling of freedom from her not-blood-related household, she suddenly got transferred back several years before, into her younger body while keeping previous memories. The previous relationship with the family members, was not bad like in hate, but not really harmonius either. Some because of the not-blood related thing, and some because of miscommunication/misunderstanding. Both stories tell on how all of the family members have worked out on it, so both have strong family vibe with its nobility atmosphere. So far, I've read 40+ chapters of both stories.

A Wicked Tale of Cinderella's Stepmom

A Wicked Tale of Cinderella's Stepmom

We all know the fairytale: the glass slipper, the not-so-pretty stepsisters, and a night with the prince until the clock strikes midnight. I have been reincarnated into that classic story, not as Cinderella, but as her “wicked” stepmother! Widowed twice by age 37 and with three daughters, my goal is to make sure all will have suitable partners and their own happily ever afters... and maybe a nice future for me as well! But who is this handsome young baron that keeps approaching me?

They're both wonderful stories with the MC as the mother of children of the family she married into. The ML falls in love with the MC (mother) and both stories are very engaging with a wonderful storyline.

If you've not read this, I highly recommend it!!!!

Dantat Dantat says...

Both FLs are young widows who have to raise the children by themselves. They have memories of their past lives, so they use that knowledge to the best of their abilities to help their families survive/have better ending. Despite having little to no intention to remarry and find their own happiness, they encounter MLs in the process.

keithashiyami keithashiyami says...

Both MCs are young widows and mothers, striving to raised three children the best way they could.

startarbars startarbars says...

Both involve a stepmom doing her best to raise her kids. For both, parenting is a priority while romance and political drama are only focused on as they relate to creating opportunities for the children.

The way they both are in tune with what's happening with their children is amazing! Both are such good mothers!

They have similar art (absolutely stunning) and have the same overall vibe. They both have darker underlying themes and plot while having wholesome moments as well. I feel like the best way to describe it is it feels like they could be set in the same universe just different places. They both have female leads whose character seems to have been fleshed out, and thoughtfuly written. Even if you were to disagee with them at times, they at no point feel annoying or frustrating to watch.

Alezandra Alezandra says...

Complexity, world building, emotions, overall pacing and story telling is similar.  Both stories don't give you instant love stories, gratification or resolutions. Their artwork all speaks for itself. You have to appreciate the details that are done for both stories.

Mia9300 Mia9300 says...

The artstyle is similair and the main charachter's love for the other charchter(s) are similair.

bookeater18 bookeater18 says...

Both FLs grow to be strong, have moments of weakness that they overcome and learn from. (not Mary Sues)

MLs are not there to take over/ save the damsel but to help them and in most cases saved by the FL through logic and not flower power.

Art is fantastic, story line builds, and has an actual plot.

Even though there are heartfelt, funny, and pink-heart moments. You can constantly feel the undertone of darkness that brings depth to each character and a reason for every action.

Both stories are about female protagonists who go through a terrible life, and meet a terrible end at an early age. Then get shoved back in time in their same life and can make new decisions that impact the future and how their family treats them.

ashine40 ashine40 says...

its wholesome. Period. Both are about a girl who reincarnated and tries to save the family. They both realize that their family loves them despite how "coldly" they treated the mc in their past lives. If anything im really picky about art, but both of these manwhas satisfies that! The only big difference is that lady baby is slow paced while a stepmothers marchen is faster :)

Shuna03 Shuna03 says...

Lady baby is a great Manhwa. It's a bit Mary Sue, and very unrealistic for a "real" five-year-old to act like Lippe, but since it's an unreal setting + it's a manhwa, I think it's fine. Anyway, Lippe has an absolute lovely personality and appearance, actually, her whole family has a cute personality when it comes to Lippe, and they all have outstanding appearances. The art style is amazing, so is the story line as well.

I Became the Villain's Mother

I Became the Villain's Mother

Summoned into her favorite novel as the infamous Duchess Roselia Chade, Haena is bathed in riches, power, and a family of her own. Life couldn’t be better, save for the small detail that her beloved stepson, Einspanner Chade, is also the evil mastermind destined to kill her. At this point in the story Ein is still just an adorable child yet to reach his cruel awakening, and so Roselia is determined to stop him from becoming a ruthless killer. But with the duke getting in her way and trying to poison his own son, safely raising a child that was primed for villainy may prove harder than she originally thought. The survival of both mother and child depends on whether Roselia can successfully rewrite their tragic ending.

The FLs in both series get transmigrated into the novels and becomes stepmothers who were cold and indifference toward their stepsons and are destined to die by them. To change their tragic fates, they step up their games by providing motherly love and changed their perceptions of the stepmothers. The change surprised the stepsons and they eventually come to love her as their mothers.

mungil mungil says...

The motherly stepmom vibe is the same. While in "A Stepmother's Marchen", the female lead got a second chance by time-traveling back several years into her younger self, in "I Became the Villain's Mother" the female lead went into a novel as a stepmom.

Both stepmoms love their families dearly and sincerely and there are many scenes in both stories to potray this. Both also in a duke family, with the relationship with its crown prince. So far, I've read 40+ chapters for A Stepmother's Marchen and 30+ for I Became the Villain's Mother.

Both about mothers going back in time to have a new attempt at motherhood. The children are both young and are hesitant to open up to their moms at first but slowly warm up to them. "I'll Raise You Well in This Life, Your Majesty!" is a more upbeat and livelier version of "A Stepmother's Marchen."

How to Win My Husband Over

How to Win My Husband Over

I thought I’d finally escaped my hellish life when I died in an airplane crash, but I fell into another nightmare when I awoke as Rudbeckia de Borgia, a minor villain from a historical novel destined to die at the hands of her husband, Iske van Omerta. Surviving with the dysfunctional Borgia family is hard enough, but now I have to marry the man who will kill me! Still, it’s okay, I just have to convince Iske, his family, and all his countrymen that I’m completely harmless! How hard can that be?

This manhwa has a beautiful art style. The female main character lived a miserable life, but reincarnated and decides to live their new life as good as possible, with the knowledge of her previous life. It's refreshing to see heer able to grow stronger and able to stand up against enemies she did not dare to stand up to in her previous life. She also have a great personalitie, she is kind, do not give up and have a beautiful smile. :)
