A One On One, Your Highness

[Some minor spoilers in the first paragraph.] The story starts off with a woman transmigrating into the body of the legal wife of a prince; the prince was in love with another, but after she begged her powerful father he forced the prince to marry her. However, she fell into despair when he spurned her after their marriage.  And then the protagonist wakes up in her body.  Where this story really shines is the female lead. She's bold, clever, and hilarious. Instead of letting herself get beaten up and tormented, she has no problems actually taking advantage of her family's power. It's pretty refreshing. Her father and brothers are also nice and supportive, which was great to read about.  But other than her and her family, the other characters are mostly lackluster. He was fine at first, but as the story developed, I really can't see myself rooting for the male lead. By the time he truly chose her over everything else it was too late for me, he'd wronged her too much. He keeps getting taken advantage of by others, and the female lead is too overpowering for him to do anything without her help. However, I think it was mentioned that he was only 19 at the start of the story? So some leeway. And while he has changed a bit, I think he still has some character development in store. We'll see if he actually gets it though.  To be honest, the other love interests were more attractive to me.  However, I did like their dynamic for a bit. It was kind of audacious and charming older wife x brash and indecisive younger husband? Though age wasn't really mentioned. A couple who are always at odds with each other, even as they harmoniously spend time together. Don't expect domestic bliss from them anytime soon.  Also, even when they act harmoniously on the surface, even as they fall in love, they're both still deeply suspicious of each other. Even as they like the other, they're also using the other's power and wary of it.  The art style changed twice, which was off-putting but I was fine with the art. The story kind of feels like it jumps around, with new characters being introduced with little introduction. I think the story is really long, so some plot points aren't brought up for a while, though it seems the author has still kept them in mind. There was a major change halfway through the story that surprised me.  I'll have to see how this ends before I decide how I feel about it.  tldr; What really makes this story interesting is the bold and charming main character. If you don't like her, I don't recommend reading this story.

The story is great however towards the end of season two when everything is coming to an end, it's very abrupt and left on a cliff hanger. The female lead's character development is ruined as the author rushed the last remaining chapters and left it on a very unsatisfactory end. SPOILER: the last chapter does not explain the relationship between the female lead's ex and their child. Jumps to a "happy ending" without her leaving her new husband who seems to like her even though their marriage is more so a "contract" marriage.  END SPOILER: The Chinese novel has about 600 chapters so it probably does a better job of explaining the ending of their story without it being god awful. The manhwa adaption was excellent... until the last 10 remaining chapters. I would not have read this if I'd know the rushed and terrible ending! https://www.xsb-xs.com/read/11099/
