A Centaur's Life

Being a teenager is never easy... especially for a centaur! Himeno is a sweet, shy girl, who like many teens her age, struggles with the trials and tribulations of attending high school. The difference is she's a centaur; but she's not alone. In fact, all of her classmates are supernatural creatures, sporting either horns, wings, tails, halos, or some other unearthly body appendage. Yet despite their fantastical natures, Himeno and her best friends-the dragon-winged Nozomi, and Kyoko with her spiraled horns-are down-to-earth, fun-loving teenagers who grapple with issues of life and love in a mostly normal daily school setting.

If you like this manga, you might like...

This manga starts as slice of life but then continuously tries to expand its universe through social commentary, conspiracies, mysteries and weird events that are almost completely separated from the main cast and the slice of life moe. It will jump in tone and situation so fast you may believe pages were uploaded in the wrong order. It does not shy away from anything so if you can't handle gore, body horror or the old 50/50 Reddit challenge then be aware it may come up randomly and with little warning. FOR PEOPLE WHO WATCHED THE ANIME The slice of life is still there but it will fluctuate between that and the type of episodes that didn't include the main protagonists. The weird ecchi and fan service is still there but mileage may vary on what stuff you can put up with. In the first 8 or so volumes it is very sparse but around volume 12 it will ramp it up more, especially for the slice of life.  Personally, I find the universe fascinating even if I can't say it always hits the mark. It requires a lot of patience since you may really get into the slice of life or the really weird events and ideas it shows and the manga will rip you from one and won't get back to it until a volume or two down the line if at all. If you don't like the first volume it does not fix the issues you didn't like and may even get worse. The latest volumes have focused on yuri relationships even more, barely shows the initial protagonists but rather tries to juggle all the side plots and characters that it added.
