8th Circle Mage Reborn - Reviews

This one of those where you are eager to read the story because it looks interesting at first and then the more you read the more you find issues with it until you can't handle it anymore. Then you drop it. The concept has already been done dozens of times before. Dude dies/gets killed and reincarnate in someone else's body. What made this a bit interesting is that the mc reincarnated in the same era so the people who killed him are still alive and roaming, that gives him purpose. There comes the first problem.

A bit spoilery. When MC is about to get killed he is an old man, he is calm and just want it to get over with. He doesn't cry or whine or say something about revenge. He only says in a calm manner "I will never forgive you". And then he dies. So with what was shown before you don't really feel that much empathy towards the mc because we weren't shown any cruel acts done by those who framed him and he seemed okay with it. But as soon as he wakes up in another body his personality takes a 180. He's now haughty and condescending, he beats up people and is hard on revenge as if his life depended on it. In fact he's so pent on it that it becomes an obsession. Why is he is such a hurry knowing that he just reincarnated? 

Then the problem of magic. Magic is not properly explained and we don't know how that works. The mc just magic formula his way into OPness without much explanation. He's the mc, he was strong before (or so we're told but he got easily framed by others) so now everything is easy. Weak body? Just meditate for a couple of hours and you have a brand new body. Don't have stamina? Use magic and you are now an experienced fighter. Magic is the answer to everything and this my friends is how not to write a good story.

Also the author draws faces without expression, it's a bit creepy.

So many things wrong with this story. Originally I read this thinking it was the manga version of Return of the 8th Class Mage. It is not. Not even close. Still, I love reincarnation manga so I kept on reading. Kinda wish I didn't. It's not a good read. Everything can be solved by Magic Ex Machina. Literally everything there is no obstacle. The MC is dull in character seemingly having no personality besides revenge. He was once someone so great but seemingly died by a plot by stupid people. He's consumed by revenge against people I can't even hate for any reason cause the story gives no explanation to hate them other than they betrayed him and set him up. They don't even have names! And even with all his OPness the manga is still boring. Soooo boring. Even the fight scenes are just him snapping his fingers and the enemies are on their knees. If he was this powerful before HOW DID HE EVEN GET CAUGHT! Rant over. Save your brain cells.

The art isn’t that good, most of the characters look like soulless mannequins going through the motions.  And the MC is unlikable as heck.  The minor animal abuse really ticked me off.  And other abuse.  The main character is just a terrible person, he sucks.  I think I only tried to keep with it because of the number of chapters, but it was Not.  Worth it. 

Most of the matter related to the manhwa is discussed in other reveiws.Its art is really an eyesore and so you have to be tolerant to read it.The plot is okay to read but then also the great sage magician that reincarnated is not that really wise bcoz he  sometimes behaves in a childish way.There is a scene where he literally cut down the tree with one full sweep of his sword to find a  mushroom behind the tree instead of walking around the tree to get it.Then also it seems that second season art has improved but not to that extent that you can find emotions in these soulless characters.

I have never been more disgusted with an MC so soon after starting reading a manga. The MC has such a trash personality that any sane reader will be constantly wishing for the MC to fail and/or be killed off. The MC also questionably abuses animals, a known sign of a psychopath. The art also sucks but compared to the MC's personailty it mise-well be drawn by Picasso. A much better take on this type of manga is the 8th Class Mage is Reborn. This is horrible and anyone who says otherwise should not be trusted in any capacity.
