Duchess Chloé Battenberg is a spineless softy at the mercy of society snobs, disparaging servants, and a cold husband. When an office worker (and recovering pushover) awakens as Chloé, she can’t believe it. But she’s DONE with this pity party, so let's make it a tea party! Each cup is perfectly brewed to defeat prejudices and coffee-predilections—and served with a side of business savvy—but is it enough to stir her husband and bring Chloé the respect she deserves? Come spill the tea with Chloé!
I loved the beginning of this series: the ML had a transcational relationship with the FL where he married a spineless, weak woman who would not interfere with his business in exchange for a comfortable life. Turns out, all the house workers also viewed her the same and treated her as such. When MC enters the new body, she sets out to stand on her own and asks for only one thing: the only joy from her previous life, tea. I like tea, and liked learning about different types and brewing techniques and other random tidbits. There's some cute fluff as the ML starts to fall in love with her and vice versa. The MC is able to stand up for herself against the house staff, other suitors, business partners, and I liked that she didn't need someone else to always back her up. The thing I have qualms about is that it seems too easy. So many of the characters fall for her once they see her talk about her tea or drink it; they become her allies while the villains remains villains. The MC becomes a mary sue, and things are either bad or good in how the author wants you to think. I think I would've enjoyed and continued the story if the MC was less perfect and there was more push back against her.
The STORY stole my heart immediately. It's spiritual, empowering and inspiring. I highly recommend for the broken-hearted and bullied and or abused because you will find real understanding, healing and solace in the plot. The story is about forgiveness, mending broken hearts and melting the hearts of your enemies with goodness. However, I took some points off the story because the anxiety and violence is a bit too much for me though they are only minor parts of the plot. I highly recommend for the fans of Rose Of Versailles! I also recommend for foodies and tea drinkers like myself that consume several cups a day and are familiar with different tea qualities and blends. Also feminists will enjoy this a great deal. The story is such a page-turner and a fast read in one or two days. The ART is beautiful and stunning but I took some points off because I'm not familiar with this drawing style and it's not quite as beautiful for my liking as the most popular styles. The same applies to CHARACTER design. Of course, Duchess Chloe is completely in the league of her own and she is the most relatable and touching manga character I have read about so far. The characters are really deep and experience tremendous growth.
A calm, inspiring, wholesome story. If you want to have your heart stolen by the mc smile whenever her eyes light up because of her passion for tea, then read this. I'm genuinely moved by her love for tea. It will show you how your face looks like whenever you do your art/ hobby. Smiling crazily as you express yourself.
