This is a really mixed bag and I've already seen some of these, so this'll be interesting to go through. I'm going to prioritize Mishima and Moon, 'cos Yukio Mishima's a super badass (have you guys even seen how ripped this dude was in real life?) and Moon's one of those must-see movies I haven't seen yet. Yeah, I know, right? Lemme go fix that mistake right now.

Got a pretty solid sounding list!

Annihilation
Burn After Reading (2008)
Ex Machina
Gerald's Game
Glass
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
Network
The Babadook
Nemesis
Strange Days
Near Dark
Equilibrium
Dark City
Dredd
The Thing
The Star Wars Holiday Special
The Descent

I might not be able to get to all of these due to availability and time (Shenmue 3 is out tomorrow and I'm gonna be playing the shit out of that) but I'm sure I'm gonna have fun regardless! Been wanting to watch Annihilation for a while.

I got this:

District 9
Upgrade
Ex Machina
The Shape of Water
Her
Slumdog Millionaire
Love, Simon
Amélie

I've actually seen about half of these, but I won't post flash reviews because I fucking LOVE sci-fi and I'm always down to watch them again. Plus this serves as the perfect excuse to actually watch Slumdog, which I've put off for like a decade.

Anyway, I'll probably start watching and reviewing these starting Monday, which is when my last vacation (for a full 10 days, baby!) Of 2019 kicks in. Can't wait!

Don't skip Three Billboards if you haven't seen it. Great dark comedy.

The Mothman Prophecies is weird one. It's got atmosphere, but the story never goes anywhere. It builds up then just kind of peters out. It's worth seeing for some creepy moments and seeing Richard Gere in a horror movie.

Man, Air Force One brings back some memories. It's a silly as shit 90s film, but highly entertaining with an overqualified cast. It shits all over those terrible Olympus Has Fallen movies.

Lots of good stuff here, but don't miss The Descent. It's a gem of a horror movie with a rare all female cast. The film is psychological with some good character development before the action gets started.

I'm only just now realizing my mistake in not forcing my secret Santa to watch Parasite. Damn...

I'll have to watch it again in their stead come Monday.

Looking back, I probably could've chosen some better films but I'll just chalk it up to time crunch and sleep deprivation. If this is still going next year though I'm lining up some BBC originals, though.

@Schizm Ah man, I might watch Bloodsport for this too. It's been ages and I could use that kind of violent cheese.

The movie that made me afraid of having kneecaps.

I've watched Bloodsport so many times at this point I actually wouldn't mind a groupwatch for this one if @HasseRovdjur feels up to it (and anyone else who wants to).

Regarding Being John Malkovich I think this is still one of the best unscripted moments in all of cinema:

Don't skip Three Billboards if you haven't seen it. Great dark comedy.
I'm with ZK, if you LOVE dark comedy. Then this is an absolute must.

I also just wanted to say, I'm really fucking happy to see Amélie recc'ed to people. I don't even care for rom coms much, but Ameile is the creme of the crop of those, and such a damn fine piece of french film making with a great sense of genuine feel good charm, wonderful music and magical whimsy to it. It had a pretty big influence on Pushing Daisies from Bryan Fuller where you can feel this film's DNA all over it. One of my favourite TV shows EVER.
