Run With the Wind

This will either be pretty gay, or some homoerotic tension of rivalry between two dudes. But it could make for some great running shots of sweaty dudes and pumping, flexing thighs. Like Free, but with running. And I'm curious on how much time they would spend on running and talking while running.

Ep1:
This may actually be pretty fucking good. The animation is very well done, each character is distinct from the other and unique and lovable. The story so far is also not bad, it profits from everyone being university students.

Also, the amount of non-creepy manservice is top notch. I love it. I think we might have a hidden gem here.

Nice Op/Ed.
Generic pop songs. But I’m ok with that.

Ep1: Fine, just fine. Not a bad sign when you can see there’s going to be a lot on the character background in the following episodes.

Episode 1
I like how they were all recruited, the faces and jaw dropping at the end were great. Also Haji is great at finding out information about his prospects as the end of the show offered. I wasnt to sure about this, but it looks like it might be quite enjoyable.

So I watched this on @ShinShini's recommendation.

It's pretty interesting to far. The character dynamics seem good and it's Production IG which means it (hopefully) will have decent animation. Feels like they could run into a problem of having too many characters, but... that's a factor that comes with sports anime, I guess?

EDIT: Having a character who smokes that's nicknamed Nico-chan just makes me think of this...

Someone should draw him doing the Nico nico nii pose, honestly.

Pretty much what I was expecting. Looking to be at least an alright marathon show with decent animation at this point. Should be interesting.

I'm glad you're also interested in it, I think it would have been a shame if you missed it.

Although you're right, I wonder if they manage to give every character their moment to shine. There are 10 characters that are each distinct enough to deserve an episode for themselves. Maybe 9, if you cram the twins into one.
But I'm not so skeptical with this one. From the pacing of the first episode, the creators seem good enough to manage it. Hopefully.

Like I said, it's Production IG so I have faith. If they wanted they could do two characters per episode or something. It's definitely doable.

FWIW the manga's 6 volumes long which indicates that there's some level of character development there originally, so...

If this was a 12 episode show I'd be worried about having this many characters so early on, but apparently it's gonna be 23 episodes so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

That aside, I liked episode 1. The whole thing looked gorgeous--especially the characters. Even if the plot ends up being lacking on this one, I'll probably be able to keep watching just for how expressive everyone looks

I feel pretty hyped about this anime. I think this is my first running anime. The art looks good and the characters seem pretty diverse. Good hopeful start I think.

With no synopsis to go on on the site I was viewing it, and no hype (at least none that I've come across) I nearly passed this by as the title picture is a bit dull. On a whim, I decided to watch the first episode. It was much more than I expected. The scenery is very well done and pleasing to look at, especially the city scenes. Definitely excited to see where this goes as it shows great promise. This could well prove to be one of the quiet gems this season.

Episode 1:

Very good start, I think I'll genuinely keep up (heh) with this and not just because I need my regular sports anime fix. I like that I remember most of the runners we were introduced to, even if I didn't remember their names. This looks like it's shaping up to be a character-driven sports show starring Jean Valjean's reincarnation, and y'all know well-written sports series are my absolute jam. Looking forward to the next episode.

Episode 1
"Oh god, I knew that I've hit rock bottom when I stole that 300 yen yakisoba bread, but now I have a crazy guy on a bicycle chasing after me asking me if I have a thing for running while making scary faces. How worse can my luck get?"

This should be an ok show, though it's kind of surprising that none of them have seemingly any experience running. And judging by their slightly degenerate student lifestyle I'm just envious, ok they will need to put in a lot of effort if they want to be anywhere near relevant in that marathon. And I'm willing to bet that it will turn out how the exchange student from Tanzania actually sucks at running big time, or is just plain average.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, I smell a Training Arc.

inb4 the whole arc will just be the rest of the guys trying to get Nico-chan-senpai to quit his smoking habit.

Ep2:
Quite unexpected.
You expected some cliché motivational arc to convince all of the members? How about some fucking blackmail and other manipulation tactics to convince them? That bastard is as charming and threatening as a demon.

Also, the bath house scene is an example of fanservice/nudity done right. It's naked dudes, but just nude in a natural setting. No gazes for the viewers and nothing pulling the attention towards the fact that this is simple fanservice.

This is one of the best shows this season so far. Animation and art is great, story so far quite good and characters unique and phenomenal. So much done right so far.

1-2
Yet another surprising hit in a season that I thought would be a total miss. Production IG is knocking it out of the park again animation-wise and stylistically, but this time unlike haikyuu I enjoy the characters. Also their interactions.

I don't know what it is, they just feel very natural. I like the plot for not being too much of an outright shounen premise but having some natural. This is just a group of people trying to run... well besides the kurahara guy. But a character like him is to be expected, I'm interested to see where they go with him.

Episode 2
Information specialist is apparently what Haji is up to as a fourth year. His mind games, psychological warfare and so on, are top notch. Especially concerning Masa at the butcher shop. Those eyes man, crazy eyes! I do feel bad for Manga-kun though, being pressured to move unless he joins. That would be pretty scary, what with all those books and so on.
