A reverse harem with Twilight in the title. I reckon these relationships are going to be sane, healthy and not abusive at all.
(Plot sounds interesting) Oh, cool. (sees the tag Reverse Harem) Oh, not cool. Also the synopsis sounds pretentious as hell, like the majority of the reverse harem animes turn out to be. (No offense, lades who enjoy this type of anime) Will lay off for now. Maybe crafty will say its a mindblow masterpiece, and I will jump in.
I desparately hope this is the case and not what @ZetsubouKaiji is thinking. Some non-abusive sane relationships is some bullshit. But there's a guy named Garfunkel! This is going to be great!
I claimed this Summer '18 anime early this morning (around 5:45 AM my time). I'm hoping it is at least decent and that the relationships are nothing like Diabolik Lovers. The wife saw that and was not too keen on certain aspects of it. Plus, the Café tag hopefully means some sort of food is involved. :-D
Episode 1: Yeah, I think I'll give it an episode 2. It's dumb but not too bad (for an otome harem anyway), decent OST, decent MC.
This is one of those shows I'm not sure I'll stick with. It isn't really... as offensive as I found something like Brother's Conflict. However, it isn't as interesting as some others.
Ep 1: This was above average for an otome adaptation (or I guess to-be-released otome in this case). Ton doesn't feel like a soulless self-insert and the guys seem cliche but likable enough. I think what little lore we have on Rijan is probably the most interesting bit so far. I'm pretty optimistic for the next episode.
Ep 1. I really like the details with this being set in London. I feel like this ep doesn't do a good job at explaining the backstory of the shadow guardians but I'll wait for more eps. It's interesting though.
Episode 2: You know, there's one thing I can't stand... Something feeling "generic" and yet trying to do more. It's not that it is, but maybe I'm just not drawn by how normal of a reverse harem anime this is.
Episode 2: It's not good but Ton owns and pretty much saves the show, she's spunky and badass so I'll watch more
Ep3: The girl kicks ass. Well, she hits heads with an iron shield, but you know what I mean. Aside from her, the vampire guy and the shota ghost are mildly interesting/entertaining. On the other hand, I don't give a single fuck about her kidnapped friend, either one of the wolfs, the gentleman villain, the café or the story in general.
Episode 3: 3 ep rule is over and it did manage to convince me well enough (something I cannot say about most other things this season), so might as well pick up the whole thing Ton still kicks ass, sassiest anime protagonist 2018
Episode 4: I shouldn't like this show, but I do In addition to the protagonist being totally out of line with the conventions (which really is the best thing about this show, and feels super refreshing), it's also god damn ridiculous The production values have declined further, but I don't care, gimme more of this shit
Art looks pretty good, but story isn’t that strong and though some characters are ok some are lacking and even the ok ones feels like something is missing. In episode 3, they lingered a bit to long in trying to rescue Shinyao that it reminded me of the fake crowd baiting of pro wrestling where contestants do there boasting so there opponent has time to recover and continue the match. It was so blatantly obvious it felt fake like that. The brother, Chris’ motives feel a bit forced and disingenuous. I’m getting the creepy impression Shinyao is developing Stockholm syndrome and will inappropriately fall for the creepy human hating kidnapper. This fact alone seriously drops this anime several points cause it’s a reflection a forced intimacy turning into love fetish we often see in the worst anime or hentai.
Episodes 5 through 10: I'm no longer watching this for the ridiculousness only, it's become a legitimately good show; the production values haven't been the greatest (and in episode 9 they reached kinda embarrassing levels, episode 10 fixed it again), the writing is better than it initially seems and the character relationships are actually handled really well it also consistently defies the standards of its genre and very much intentionally, so while the budget is not the greatest on this, the staff do know what they are doing, so good for them
