Characters you hate that others like

Well, I do like his voice. I do agree on that point. I don't know what the Jp seiyu sounds like, but J. Michael Tatum is fine. The best part is, he's from my home state . . . Well, most of Funimation's stars are (I'm from Texas, in case you haven't guessed).

Sorry, but I guess I just don't like demons. I find them repulsive. . . Not that I find angels sexy, either. I just think they are awesome (the good ones, anyway).
The dub? Nah man, you gotta listen to his Japanese voice. I could listen to Daisuke Ono read the phonebook with the voice he uses for Sebastian.

I have a love/hate relationship with Momo Yaoyorozu, I didn't really care enough about her to have a formed opinion on her, but then the few moments that did show her just meh, I really feel like she was wasted as a character.

Also, Endeavor, Idgaf about him but I know that some people think that his "character development" is worth rooting for him or respecting him or any form of positive emotion for the guy. Rachel from Tower of God or Suzaku Kururugi - Literally anyone on my I </3 list I have something to say.

It's a me thing but I'm sure if I bothered to spend energy hating them, I could find some plausible excuse. Probably, Idk.

Legoshi from Beastars

This dude and Beastars in general seem to get nothing but praise from the anime community, but he was so indecisive about everything to the point where he couldn't take his greatest wish even when it was thrown at him. It was only natural for Haru to act distant toward him because she was decisively rejected early in the series. Legoshi is honestly the embodiment of everything I don't like in a main protagonist.

I guess I'm alone in my feelings though, he currently has over 2000 loves and 36 hates.

Characters I’m not a fan of
  • Sakimoto from Haven’t you heard I’m Sakimoto
  • Kirito and Asuna from SAO
  • Umaru Chan from Himoto life
  • Esdeath from Akame ga kill
  • Mine from Akame ga kill

I can't really explain it but I just can't like Froppy from my hero academia no matter how much I try ^^; she's by far not my least favourate my hero character but I feel she's far more loved then bakugo or mineta so I would say she's more suitable to mention here

The cast of Rent-A-Girlfriend:

Kazuya (aka The Simp King)
This is not a man, this is a manchild. Saying that he has the emotional maturity of a 14 year-old would be an insult to 14 year-olds. He's a chronic liar, a stalker, an overall moron, and he is so ill-equipped to handle reality that he has actually gotten down on the floor and kicked his feet like a toddler when he can't deal with life. Multiple times. Remember, this mentally challenged buffoon is supposed to be an ADULT. I understand that emerging adults are still learning and growing as they try to find their place in the world, but there is just no excuse for this level of idiocy. I was also tired of being shown how often he masturbates and who he masturbates to. (Why the hell would somebody get off on the thought of their ex having sex with another man, anyway? And why do we have to know about it?) In a nutshell, Kazuya is everything I hate in useless, pathetic, indecisive male protagonists that have permeated this kind of anime for decades. The only reason I can figure these girls like him (aside from his simping) is that they are all stupid. And crazy. Speaking of which, let's take a look at the ladies...

Chizuru
Chizuru is pretty, confident, and competent at her job as an escort. Unfortunately, as soon as she meets our protagonist, she turns into a fucking idiot. And a liar. While I'd love to place the blame all on Kazuya, I can't. She has willingly followed him into his problems more than once and put herself in the middle of his drama. And despite all her complaining, whenever she has an opportunity to extricate herself, she doesn't. I don't think she really wants to, because she likes Kazuya and doesn't want to admit it. She therefore becomes an enabler, and she's got herself to blame for being embroiled in Kazuya's issues because she could have put a stop to this bullshit at any time. She also gets the Stupidest Moment of the Season award, when she starts feeling unwell and decides to get up out of her seat and go lean over the edge of the boat she's on and falls overboard like a dumb bitch.

Mami
This chick is psycho, and I'd hope for Truck-kun to run her over if it weren't for the fact that she might get isekai'd to another world and the innocent people there would have the misfortune of dealing with her. She's Kazuya's ex-girlfriend, and one might think that she dumped him because he's a childish loser and she realized she could do better. Nope. Once she thinks he has a new girlfriend she's on a mission to get him back (for whatever reason) and is willing to pull whatever creepy, manipulative stunt she's got up her sleeve to accomplish this, including renting a female escort to date so she can try to learn more of Kazuya's business than she has any right too. I really hope she gets a School Days type ending.

Ruka
SO. FUCKING. ANNOYING. Another adult with maturity issues, Ruka becomes obsessed with the Simp King and begins clinging to him, stalking him, and basically doing everything she can to force herself into his life. When he runs out of the money his parents gave him for living expenses (that's what happens when you spend a year blowing it on dates with a female escort) and has to take a part-time job, Ruka makes sure to get employed at the same place so she and Kazuya can "spend time together". But then he can hardly complain about being stalked when he's doing plenty of stalking himself, and since Kazuya doesn't have the balls to tell this little twit no, she eventually becomes his girlfriend in spite of the fact that he's interested in a different woman. God, I hate this show.

Nagomi (Kazuya's Grandmother)
She seems funny at first, but this nosy old bat got on my last nerve by the end of the show. Her grandson is clearly emotionally stunted and she thinks he needs a future wife??? Sorry to burst her bubble, but her grandson doesn't need a girlfriend. He needs to be in therapy before he winds up homeless or in jail. He also needs to NOT have his grandmother constantly in his business pressuring him. And then there's the bath scene where this entitled old crone gropes a woman young enough to be her granddaughter. Just... ew. First ecchi bath scene I've ever seen featuring a senior citizen and I hope to never see one again. Not sexy at all, just really cringe and creepy.

I guess Ash Ketchum is the most obvious one. The dude is the furthest from being a pokemon master leaving aside how he has no knowledge of type advantages.

Kuroko and Kagami from Kuroko no Basuke. Literally every other character from KnB is more interesting than them. Kuroko has the personality of a toenail and Kagami has the power of blatant plot on his side.

Merlin from NNT: The gimmick of 'oh she has this secret thing with her" or " oh she has a main character's hidden weapon with her" was lame. Not to mention her motivations were garbage.

Hawk from NNT: He annoying AF

Asahi from Haikyuu: Literally everybody in haikyuu is more interesting than Asahi

Zenitsu from Demon Slayer for obvious reasons

Characters like Sasuke, Lelouch, Light and also Ayanokouji or Hachiman. I feel Light and co. are those typd of edgy teenagers you can argue online with, who think about themselves as a genius, but you can't take them serious. I liked Death Note theoretically because of its premise and I could enjoy a good villain protagonist, if I could take him more serious and see more than an edgy teenage boy in him.
I also don't care too much if he could manipulat Misa, but it was a god damn joke that he could manipulate a high-ranking agent too.

About Sasuke and co: I often can appreciate these "hard shell, soft core"-characters, if they aren't just borderline psychopaths. That still would have been fine with me, but he's also incredibly self-pitying throughout, I guess, several hundred of episodes and I stopped watching Naruto, because he never gave up on Sasuke, no matter what he has done to him.

Eren is a love-hate... I understand he doesn't just accept the discrimination of his people, but well... let's say I would have liked a different approach to this much more and in the end he too came across as unnecesarily edgy, but I won't open a whole spoiler tag for it either.

A whole different character type: Female characters like those in Clannad, Chi from Chobits etc... of course anime characters can act over the top, especially for comedy scenes, but those characters are at their core not remotely human. Same goes for characters in lot of romcoms and isekais.
And I'm not a huge fan of the "strong independent woman"-archetype either, but I'm annoyed when the female characters act so incredibly helpless and it's romantized too.
