Moriarty the Patriot

I thought this would be about little kids but instead it's the proletariat rising up against the unjust class system and the bourgeois aristocracy. And they can ride that dick like Dick Riding Obama if it means rising up and living in a society that oppresses you.

I did not expect this to get adapted.

I approve of this message.

I do like Sherlock Holmes with all my heart, but whenever Japan does it, it always ends up like this:

I'm not too optimistic for this one.
Every time Japan touches a historical figure or a fictional icon it's always in the least flattering way imaginable. I've read a few chapters in the manga, and at least they didn't make him reincarnate as a dog and put his butt on the cover.

Episode 1.... more like Moriarty the anti-hero protagonist!
It really is the mirror of what Holmes does, but for vengeance instead of justice or law, which to be honest I am more behind.
I'm interested in who Louis & Albert are, whether historically or cannoically in the Doyle books. Also, anime food porn strikes again; that was an amazing looking omelette.
The only having one cigarette line was stone cold brilliance. I'm interested if this will be an episodic series or if there will be an overarching plot, involving Holmes directly or not.

So far I'm hooked. Let's see what happens next.

I like detectives and investigations animes. and when I heard a new anime about "Sherlock Holmes" is coming soon, I was excited. But This is.... OMG THE FIRST EPISODE IS OxO I have nothing to say I gave it 5 stars after watching only the first ep XD The reason why I gave it 5 stars is because each second I get goosebumps!! It's so cool I totally recommended it!

This is fine so far, but I'll be honest, the character designs are... really not good. Bishie moriarty is just so off-putting and looks like he doesn't fit with most of these other character designs. That's about my only complaint though. I'm still looking forward to watching more, because revenge stuff is cool.

Episode 2... ahhh, nice and clear origin story.
Genius and corrupt from the beginning in all the best ways! I love it! Our William goes around town on the regular, making himself known to the general public, where real William never goes anywhere near the lower class, Albert coraberates his cover by picking him up in the carriage.
Burn the house down, then there are no pictures of what the real William looks like, our William takes his place, family burns to death in the fire, everyone in public has no reason to question our new William.
This is why he's so nice to his "servant" in the first episode, his actual true brother, and why he so tight with his "brother" Albert, thick as thieves. A brilliant origin story, ties every thing up in 1... so the other half of Scarlet Eyes must be the 5th person in the opening, because we got the kid with the squeeze box last episode.

Character design wise, is anyone else getting a Pandora Hearts feel, or just me?

Solid series... let's see where it takes us!

Just watched ep1 and i think this says it all. It was actually pretty neat for a first episode, i will catchup on 2 tomorrow but if it can maintain this level of interest for the season, this will sit pretty nicely for me.

2

yeah this was pretty bad.
It's not believable that this kid is basically the exact same and doesn't change even a little bit growing up, and just is eternally a smug genius. Beyond that, this episode's presentation was abysmal.

So many flashbacks, like big bro remembering something that happened right after it happened in that very same episode, at least 8 different times. One time it was even 10 seconds after the actual event happened that he flashed back to it. I hope that's not an indication of how the rest of the series will be.

Also the terrible character designs were even more apparent in this episode.

and man, I get that he's a noble, but big daddy moriarty sure is strange calling it a "ragged school"...

...
oh.
I hope it gets better because this was a really disappointing second episode.

Haha this made me laugh when i saw it too! I was thinking how smug this guy is keep calling it a "ragged school" constantly and then i saw it's name... i actually had to jump back to double check i saw it's name proper and wasn't imagining it... touché Mr Moriarty... touché

I didn't really mind the episode but i do agree, too many flash backs... i was kind of hoping keep it in the same style of ep1...

Episode 3... darn, filler already?
I surmised all of this from the post credit scene last episode, but I guess if you wanted to drive home how terrible the Moriarty family was and how dedicated the trio is, sure. But we already knew that. I was hoping it was going to culminate in killing the guy on the train, but alas no.
Well, it's over now. Now let's move on to who the 5th person in the OP is!
Just in case anyone cares, the saying in the Moriarty family coat of arms, which is in French, translates to "I believe in myself."
