Correct profile header dimensions

Hi, as the title says does anyone know the correct dimensions for your profile header? I've searched the forums and the read the site announcement but no matter what size I try the image is stretched or is cropped, I've also view others profile images than using the same size and still get the same issues. Thanks

i believe its 1500x500 could be wrong. works for me tho. also just saw this was from two years ago.... sorry
