Welcome to the NHK!

Episode 3
It is not atomic science, but the depiction makes it look like he did find the secrets to atomic science xD

Also, do not know the hikikomori culture an if it even is part of it so... Are those really exaggeration or have they actually happened to some? People who
would collect thousands of photos of those... That and a few more creepy things.
They say the truth can be stranger than fiction.

In any case, loving the show, but the exaggerations by this episode... Debating whether it went overboard or not. It all depends on whoever answer the question above ^ ?

This quote can be found in episode 5
"How convenient things have become, huh? If you go to a convenient store you can buy food, drinks, cosmetics, even cell phones. But they don't sell relationships."
~ Hitomi Kawashima

Damn... That last line is like an episode of Rick and Morty pointing out progress does not necessarily mean happiness - the episode is Season 4 Episode 7: Promortyus. Anyways, time to delve deep!

Perhaps with all these conveniences in society, we interact less with the people that matter. The more we rely on these conveniences, the more people shut themselves or do not see the big picture that everyone is hurting. Human emotions get the best of us and we do not consider the feelings of others. And that is probably why there is so much hurt in the world. We do not pay attention enough to our surroundings that we let these negative emotions run amok in society. And so the cycle continues...

By the way! Mystic has a tendency to collect quotes! Come look at Mystic's collection here and maybe share some of your own!

By episode 8, Mystic is reminded of this scene from Toradora:

It seems cynical at first, but it is actually more hopefully when one finally understand where they stand in all this ;P

Episode 11

That moment when you get a feeling something bad will happen... Something very specific
that Truck-kun appears (Q~Q) So much trauma just imagining it

And damn. really have doubts about antidepressant pills. Are they inherently good or is it just a means to running away from a problem?

Quotes from Episode 14
"When a person gets caught up in one notion, he becomes unable to think of anything else, even though, in fact, another way of resolving things is often right before his eyes." ~ Makoto Minegishi

"Selfishly throwing away the life his parents gave him is something a fool does. If you actually were dead now, you'd be beyond all salvation. Things are a little better anyway, since you came back alive. If you guys hadn't come back safely, what do you think would've happened?

(The marina staff would all have been sent out as search crews. In the worst case, the people from the fisheries cooperative might have gotten dragged into it. The inns hereabouts would've fallen behind in their work with all the inquiries and whatnot. If your bodies had washed up, that would've been big news too. Worst case, if they'd drifted up near the inns, it'd have an impact on the lodge business here too. It'd be a huge trouble all around)

Well, now do you see the idiocy of fools who would throw away their lives and cause trouble to others just because of their own situation? If you do understand, then don't ever think up anything so stupid again. This is a warning from somebody who was a fool himself long ago. ~ Janitor (he does not seem to have a name. Please correct Mystic if you do!)

Will make an introspection of at least one or both both quotes here!

Now this is a great anime. It’s one of those that they become classic as time passes. I really liked it. This is a good and realistic way to present the life of a hikikimori (as well as other problematic people such as otakus, or people who fall for multi pyramid marketing e.c. Well they aren’t exactly problematic but they are unusual.).

I love all of its main characters! They are so "real" that I feel like I have met them somewhere before.

absolutely, satou feels relatable due to all his faults and failings. one of the few shows i've watched to feel uncomfortably relatable. kinda wish they hadn't censored the RC abuse in the anime but it is what it is

does it stop being gross and cringe? so sad everyone states this as a sorta social anxiety anime until it’s just porn. idk as a girl lil (rlly) uncomfy…
sorry:/
