What made or ruined your day?

WRML:

Today was my first day as a sophomore in college. I love all of my classes. I feel like they'll all be a great experience. Not to mention I go to school on an absolutely fantastic campus with basically anything a person might need on it, in a great city.

But I still commute 1 hour each way, sometimes an hour in a half if I have to work afterwords, on a bus. Switching busses every half hour. Waiting for busses. At plazas full of crackheads. I have no licence and can't drive. I have no time to learn or get a licence. Studying on the bus is hardly an option because I will have mostly computer work. I have a laptop but the busses have no wifi. You wouldn't imagine how hard it is to get any work done in 30 minutes on a bus when you have to switch busses and there's no wifi. And don't try to tell me to do homework when I'm standing around on a sidewalk waiting for busses. I have a phone with 4G that has a connection the whole ride- but that phone as I said in a profile post is so slow doctors diagnosed it with chronic retardation. And it's tiny. I couldn't do homework on it if I wanted to. The only thing I can use it for in a reasonable amount of time is YouTube and Spotify.

I did the math and I'll be spending an average of 15 hours per week on a bus. 20 hours at college. 15 hours per week minimum studying, assuming ill study at all on the bus. 56 minimum sleeping. 16 at work. 10 for extra time because you never know how long things will take.

I have 33 hours maximum of time per week to spend on anime, 19 if I don't get enough homework done on the bus. and only 9 if my assistant manager doesnt stop giving me over the hours im available for, goddammit. Because even if I have that time, that schedule will not permit me a social life. I'll go yet another year with no real life friends.

I've looked up a lot of stuff to help me out:

Oh. Yeah that's probably why last year I only barely got by with my grades. And I didn't even have to work back then.

I've already taken the max amount of student aid out just for tuition since that scholarship only covers so much, so I have no way to live on campus. Even if I save every penny of the money I make from my job, and also keep my grades up, I still won't be able to afford room and board next year.

This has brought me to the realization that I will most likely be in a terrible place in life for the next 3 years, unfortunately. And I have no escape from it. My college years will be the worst years of my life and there is no alternative future.

WMMD: Had a Mello Yello.

If you have Netflix, download it on your phone and download some episodes or movies on your home's (Or School) wifi to watch at the bus stop. Use the school's because fuck them. And maybe the crackheads would go "Oh shit son that Galavant shit is the real shit son, Timothy Omundson is my fucking G son fuck man that is some hard shit". And if you can still get full-refund on your courses, are there any available as online courses? Or can you swap out some liberal arts courses for online variants?

*Liberal arts being courses not related in the slightest to your degree, don't know if it's a requirement for your program or not.

And if anything, you will always have a place here. We will be your friends.

I have done a lot of driving today. Got the house signed for and got the main truck load unloaded and partially sorted through, gonna go get the rest tomorrow.

Fuck me runnin...

Unfortunately the online stuff is slim pickings, otherwise I'd've been all over doing that shitty african culture and expressions class online. I'm basically forced with everything. And it's not the classes I really have a problem with, thank god, as I said this time they're great. And I have my social sciences one out of the way. It's just the way I have to live to get to them. It's not looking good.

Can't your parents help you with your bills or lend you some money so that you wouldn't have to take so many hours at work?

This sucks turkey. I worked through university too, but I only had 10-15 hours of classes and I lived in the city I studied so travel wasn’t an issue. Plus IDGAF by second year and just cruised through to get the degree at the end.

Studying on the busses doesn’t sound like a viable option but @Thrawn is right in that you could use them for relaxing by downloading anime/tv series to watch. And even if you don’t watch 50 anime a week you’ll always be welcome on AP for some online socialising. Real life friends are much harder work.

I disagree, dedicate all time to your studies forget about us and anime as a whole, become the robot your god wants you to be.

WMMD: I found out Kingdom is now being published in French! And apparently Ares will be fully published too! It's a good day for manga, even if an English version would be preferable :D

Today I managed to reverse (dunno if this is the right word for this. I just looked something in the dictionary) my car in the ditch like a true master driver that I am. I had to hurry up to work because I've overslept. Didn't steer my car enough when I left in my yard and before I knew it I was in the ditch with the back of my car in the neighbors bush fence. Somehow one of the tires was in the air and the car was in the most weirdest angle I've ever seen. After the initial little shock I had I get up from car and started laughing at my performance. I tried to get it out myself with no results, so I thought that my dad who knows about cars and stuff can come for help me. I called him and he said that he's coming in ten minutes. Then I called at my workplace that I will be late and that matter was settled with it.

So for the next ten minutes I have to stand next to my car awkwardly and watch as the neighbors and other people just walk pass me wondering how I even managed to get my car in there. One of them even stopped and asked me "How the hell did you get your car like that" . After ten minutes my dad drives there and I can see the shameful look in his face while he asks how it is possible to get a car in the ditch like that. He couldn't get it out so we order a tow truck. I was lucky that my car insurance covered it so it was free and after fifteen minutes my car was back on the road.

The car and the neighbors bush fence both were fine after this little incident. I was late for work about one hour, but at least I managed to make my boss and co-workers to laugh when I showed them a picture of the incident.

You should do homework when you're standing around on a sidewalk waiting for busses, like in idiot.

He could get the crackheads to help him out. But standing around doing homework is goonstyle. How can he properly type his reports? Or write it like a primitive?
