That was way more enjoyable then I was expecting.
I am especially loving the animation style. It’s pure eye candy!
This anime has a lot of tags that I really enjoy, so I hope it will continue being like this, if not better!

I actually kind of relate to the main character.
Something I never shared on this site before (due to many people finding it “weird”) is that I like painting dolls I find from thrift stores.
Specifically the ones in super rough shape that most people wouldn’t want. Because I can see the potential in making them something other then what their current state is.
Not quite the same thing I know, but it’s nice to have an anime character out there with a similar hobby as me.

That childhood friend is fucking stupid. If she shows up more in this series I hope it's that she learned that boys can like dolls too, or I don't know if I'll be able to handle it.
I liked most of the rest of the episode, I hope the main guy gets more comfortable talking with the main girl though, him getting flustered all the time is annoying.

The art style of the manga is what originally caught my attention. The personalities is what kept me reading. Normally not my cup of tea, but there is something magical about My Dress-Up Darling. I've been reading the manga for months, and I even mentioned the manga in my top 5 mangas of 2021. Saw the trailer and thought that this could be very good... Well, so far it's exceeding my expectations. This has the potential to be one of the very best romcoms on the market.
This first episode had a lot of little things that gave this show a lot of soul, let's hope all the episodes received the same level of love.

It's so cute! I was too hasty in judging the book by the cover. I thoght the protagonist would be another blank canvas for the male audience to project onto, and that the girl would be a hottie that fell in love with him for no apparent reason. Now I'm glad I gave it a chance.
Our protagonist is an otaku, but I find refreshing that he's passionate about a traditional japanese craft instead of about anime and manga, as it's usually the case (not that there's anything wrong about that either). I actually found him charming, and I must mention his beauty mark. So cute!! A boy that can sew... Now that's hot.
And the girl is so well animated and lovely herself. She feels alive. I hope the animators will be able to keep up the quality.

The manga is without a doubt my favorite of all time, I’ve kept up with the releases of both the chapters and volumes, and this anime was my #1 most anticipated watch for this year. I the first episode was very well done and enjoyable, and I hope that in later episodes we get Kitagawa’s inner monologue like we do in the manga, as I feel like it was a very important detail of the manga even if it isn’t immediately obvious that it is.

I personally enjoy learning about these things, one reason i love these kind of shows, they give unique insight to other worlds. I hope the shows maintains a pretty fair balance between the two, i like they both have a uncommon hobby, him making dolls and her cosplaying, both aren't social norms which for me at the least, makes for a great setup.
Glad your able to enjoy a rather unique hobby! I wouldn't worry about being judged, we all have a weird like/hobby somewhere buried in us, besides, if someone doesn't care for said hobby, just ignore them, being unique is what makes us different. Glad there is a character you can relate to a little. Besides, painting dolls and figures requires some skill so nothing to be down on there.

Watched the first episode of this today. It's cute! I'm excited to see how the chemistry builds between our two leads. It's nice to see the two of them being enthusiastic about their hobbies, and getting to share that enthusiasm with each other.
Looking forward to watching more of this, hardly any other shows seem to have my attention lately.

Stern Gojou is one of my favorite things, so perfect line delivery is great.This line delivery from Gojou was too perfect with that stern face and voice, I laughed hard:

The first episode was really wholesome and I found it relatable especially with Marin since I love to cosplay (She is definitely going to be the best girl in this series) . This is pretty much a slice of life mixed with otaku culture and school life. I also can’t wait to see more development between Gojo and Marin and how Gojo is going to help her with her outfits. The animation gave me so much My Senpai is annoying vibes and the ending is so unique especially with the little dance that they do. I have a big feeling that their will be lots of meme formatting and waifu of the year or top best gyaru lists here.

I think I was giggling through the whole episode. I have the same lady bits as Marin, but even I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face through the measuring. So much fanservice but, for once, I'm a fan.

She is just simply built differemt, and god damn is it nice to see a girl who was not squealy about showing her body off. BUT THEN WHEN SHE BLUSHED. FFFFFFFFFFFFFF
You know that part about her going on about her Eroge for like 20 minutes? That is me, but I would like to rant about how much I like this character. There is no need for any more best girls this year, because this is my best girl of the year, and I am proudly making this statement. Just everything about her design and personality speaks to me on a crazy level.
So anyway I might like this show, a little bit.

So working the end joke first, i laughed, a lot. We have all seen the joke where someone walks in on someone watching/playing something a bit 18+ like, or a character finding another's porn collection or whatever, yet this is one of the only times the joke lands so well, there is no denying it or hiding it, he talks so naturally to the old guy and then proceeds to continue his game like there is nothing wrong, only to be topped by the old dude noting him taking notes and focusing so seriously, brilliant and honestly funny.
Like, i love she didn't once hesitate about the fact she was gonna be measured up by him all day, she just pops on her swimsuit and acts like it was a genius idea, and then they get on with it, aside his mental state needing some time to get with it, they get on with it and complete their day, normally i would find his weird cowardly nervous ways annoying yet not this time, it was pretty charming seeing him as such, normally the whole beta mc annoys me but this ain't that kind of show and with her ignorance to what was even happening, his attitude kind of balanced the mood. But it was saved regardless by his composure when he realised, she hasn't even considered being half naked in his room as anything more than getting measurements, her goal is just the costume and him realising that passion is overwriting everything was just pure charming to see.
Ironically, as you say, the one scene she actually takes in what is happening and blushes, despite contradicting every statement above, was so damn cute!!!
The fan service was top stuff, not because it was fan service though, not being fan service made fan service good in a weird roundabout way. The innocent take over just over powers everything and man i loved every second.

Whilst i can't offer a female prospective, I could think most people of any sex would struggle to maintain pure composure, which... kind of made it all the more endearing... her passion for the outfit over taking any other thoughts made it really enjoyable.
It's weird to want to declare this my top show of the season already, i generally don't do that stuff, at least until half way through but i already loved episode 1 and here episode 2 only made me love it more, 1 gives us the setting and 2 gives us characters, so good, it really is.
