Hi all,

We've added a another substantial amount of new anime and manga tags recently. As a reminder, you can post suggestions for new tags, as well as anime/manga that are missing specific tags, in the tag section of the forum. Help out by posting missing ones in the above section!

And remember that you can check out recently added tags anytime by using the "date added" sort on the tags page.

Cooking
ANIME | MANGA

The Cooking tag used to be a top-level category for anything related to cooking, baking, or drink making and contained recipes. We've changed the tag so that it's for food-themed titles where cooking is a focus. And subsequently added a separate Recipes tag (as well as a Baking tag). This means we could use your help in correctly shifting around anything in the existing Cooking tag.

The new Cooking description:

Cooking is the focus of these food-themed manga, whether the characters within attend a Culinary School, work in a Restaurant or are simply passionate home cooks. These manga may offer step-by-step Recipes for various dishes or plating techniques.

Baking
ANIME | MANGA

The characters in these food-themed anime love to bake tasty treats! They might be professional bakers or pastry chefs, students in a Culinary School studying to become a patissier, or enthusiastic people who love to bake as a hobby. These anime may offer step-by-step Recipes so viewers can bake the same delicious bread or pastries at home.

Recipes
ANIME | MANGA

These food-themed anime showcase step-by-step instructions on how to create a dish, typically including a full recipe with images. The recipes may be for baked goods, savory dishes, or beverages.

BL
ANIME | MANGA

We've finally added a top-level category that includes both Yaoi and Shounen-Ai.

BL (short for Boys' Love) is a genre that depicts homosexual relationships between men, written by women, for women. BL is the predominant term in Japan. In the West, the term Shounen-ai categorizes romantic stories that focus on emotional aspects of relationships, while Yaoi categorizes more of the sexual aspects such as Smut or explicit content.

GL
ANIME | MANGA

Though it isn't as common as BL, we added a corresponding GL category for both Yuri and Shoujo-ai titles.

GL (short for Girls' Love) is a genre that depicts homosexual relationships between women. On Anime-Planet, Shoujo-ai categorizes romanticstories that focus on emotional aspects of relationships, while Yuri categorizes more of the sexual aspects such as Borderline H or explicit content.

Opposites Attract
ANIME | MANGA

Characters in these anime are polar opposites, but are drawn together in spite of their different personalities. They may start out hostile towards one another and slowly warm up to each other, or the attraction might be instantaneous, hitting them like a tidal wave of unexplained, out-of-control passion.
