The old thread is another bloated monster that needs to go for the forum upgrade to proceed more smoothly. This thread is mostly a place for people to blow off steam when something pisses them off. So What's annoying you?

Good reminder. We've started tracking 'nice to haves' for the new forum and I'll open up one for the like button, in case it's possible. I'll also open a site announcement thread asking people for suggestions on what they'd like to see in the forum/merge, look out for that within a few minutes / reply there with ideas.

also, i have to say the best part of this merge process is seeing the hilarious new thread titles XD

I keep finding all these semi-interesting things to read when it's time for some sleep. And they somehow become more enticing because of the hour. Ugh.

I don't particularly like 'like buttons' since it reminds me too much of yootoob and allkpop, but whatever floats Sothis' boat

I always find it funny when people argue against the like button by saying it reminds them too much of X super popular social media site as if the like button is the source of the problems people have with those sites.

The like button is a handy feature to have because it's a good way for people to know that they're posts are being read even if they don't get a ton of responses. There are many times when I read posts that I find funny, entertaining or informative where I don't really have anything to add in response, but would like the person to know I appreciated their post and a like button would be the perfect way to do that. The like button will encourage people to post more often and engage in conversation because it's an easy way to let them know their voice has been heard when they post something interesting. If you don't like the like button and don't want to use it then you can just ignore it and it won't effect your forum going experience at all.

The whole reason sothis is trying to add a like button is because a lot of us have been asking for the feature for quite some time.

Same situation in Spain. Elections went down in December and the right-wing pricks won again. So here's to another long round of poverty, unemployment, evictions, corruption and attempts at laws that put shackles on freedom of expression, right to abortion, etc. Fun fun.

Hopefully four years down the line half of the old folks voting for them will have kicked the bucket and the other half will have decided to actually do something for the future of their grandchildren.
 
Teacher not letting us have a previous test to practise with. I have no clue whether the things I'm studying now are gonna be helpfull during the test :I
 
Our government just got rid of student grants, which essentially means on top of the £9,000/year loan poor students will either be unable to attend university or have to take out an additional loan. The majority of the country will struggle with this. I have only £21k debt from my education because I was lucky enough to study for £3,300 a year + living loans (I didn't get a grant because my dad earns over £60k/year), but for people whose parents only earn <£20k each it's going to be a struggle. And considering that the national minimum wage is far less than projected living wage calculations, people will not be able to afford sending their kids to university without government support which has now been revoked.

Child care support is also getting axed, meaning people on low wage incomes are getting fucked over. My friend, a mother of two, already struggles to make do with what she earns plus child support.

And yet a Tory council just ordered a fleet of Rolls Royce limos (£90k per car) for themselves, while millionaire Cameron advocates austerity while giving the rich tosspots tax breaks and making life shittier and harder for the majority.
 
Looking at those costs for studying certainly makes me glad the government in the Netherlands waskeeping the prices farily low. I'm paying around 2k a year now, without a loan I just have to finish my study within 6 years and I won't have to pay the rest. Too bad they recently changed the system this year for new students, they will also have to get a loan now.

Gotta love it when that happens. My computer's a trooper. I think I got decent Anti-virus protection. However, I also don't do much taxing on my computer. Just reading, watching anime, checking e-mail and using my word processer. So I tend to be okay. However, there is times when one of my browsers ends up going on the fritz (usually google chrome) and I have to use Edge instead.
